Hello friends! Today my children are on summer vacation. They will live with me and participate in living activities with their mother. I always think this is an opportunity for my children to interact with real life. My mother-in-law is different. She loves her grandchildren in the old way, always afraid that they will struggle when living with their mother. What should I do?

About me: I am Amy. I got married at 18 years old. Life is so difficult that my husband went to work far away 7 years ago. Since then, there has been no information about him. Over the past 7 years, I have raised 2 children alone. Even though life is still difficult, we always try to improve our lives. My children go to school in the village. To have money to raise and pay the school fee, I do many jobs: raising chickens, pigs, and selling agricultural products at the market,...Thank you for always following and encouraging us. I can't even start to imagine even doing half of what you do every day. I have never carried anything on my shoulder much less a huge roll of roofing. You are a truly remarkable woman.

It's good to live in harmony with your own family or extended family. Her mother-in-law loves her children and just worried about the extreme weather n their living condition. Nothing annoying. I think there's a misintepration on the heading. It's good to have family especially during emergency. There is somebody to take care of each other. God is love. Don't make enemies but more friends. Everyone is different. That's where tolerance comes in. Grandma loves her grandchildren n I'm sure she appreciates her daughter - in-law too. She too suffers cos her son dissappears. Don't know whether he's alive or dead.

Ese amigo tuyo que te dió el otro día unos pájaros, puede venir con malas intenciones y hay que proteger como madre a nuestros hijos, seguro tu suegra está a disgusto por esa situación y como abuela de los niños ella tiene razón ,muchas mujeres madres solteras se hacen de hombres que no saben nada de su vida y termina en abusos hacia los hijos de la mujer todo por no ver el peligro antes.

Amy, I m an Asian n I understand our patriarchal society. My mom is always teaching us that the male in the family has to go out to work hard n support the family. Her brothers all go out n work n give whatever earnings they could get to the mother (who then plans the household expenses). Whatever my mom earns as a seamstress, she could keep for her family n gave some to her mom. Both my parents work hard, n help around the house doing chores n trying not to get in their way. It is important to learn responsibilities at a young age. When you learn that it is difficult to put food on the table, you will learn the value of money, n appreciate it more.
