    I'm with you. Don, what about this actually manages the beetles? I had the very unfortunate experience a week ago of going to help a friend with his bees, only to find the hive absconded and slimed out. I have found that fully replacing combs/foundation will cut back beetles, but how does simply changing the box do anything? Are the beetle eggs not always laid up in the combs?

    Aha, see that makes sense. I guess we were just confused because he did neither in this video. Just moved frames from one box to the other. We're good now, thanks Don.

    “Good nectar flow, early October” where you live, Hawaii???

    • @JohnDoe-ze8pf

      In the United States, no state has a “good Nectar flow in October.” Curious if that hive made it without thorough feeding. Common sense let’s everyone know that Nectar does flow anywhere in these United States much after October. Where you live? Lmwo

    hi Don, Was wondering if solid wood is better than ply to construct the feeder since ply has adhesives to laminate the layers.

      As he said in the video plywood will delaminate after a time. Soild wood is practically good forever.

    Hi Don,
    heard that you use your own wax, and reuse. How do you purify it? Clear of dirt within?

    Are you just using bobby pins or also wire/fishing line?

    • @fineshooter
      @fineshooter  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      we only use fishing line when we ship nuc's

    • @oliverhorsfall4501
      @oliverhorsfall4501 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Oh so normally you just use bobby pins for your own hives? Do you find this is enough to hold the foundation in place and when the bees build on it, it doesn't sag?
