You know an artist when you watch him draw...look at his pinkie..it sticks out....this is so that the ink or the lead from the pencil doesn't stick to the side of the fist and blot...this also used to make the hand steady when drawing...

My pinkies naturally stick out. Even when I used to play the alto sax, they’d stick out. I guess it’s mainly because they are short. 🤣
