If it wasn’t for the weak ringgit I would have considered the platinum .

Does the rule apply to those who are over 49 years old? The no income requirement does not make sense, how are you going to live for the first year in Malaysia with no income. Anything for retired people.

It's logical. How and why one wants to be living abroad without any sorts and means of income to live a daily life. The Government just relaxed the requirement to be more competitive.

Where are you getting your information regarding the elimination of the monthly income and liquid asset requirement? Nothing has been announced about this and it would not make sense for Malaysia to eliminate the monthly income requirement. If anyone actually does get permanent residency due to their RM5 million investment that will be big news. The RM5 mil. allows MM2H'ers to APPLY for permanent residency. This is ridiculously hard to get and usually requires some kind of tie to the country. A westerner has little chance of buying a permanent residency.

Unlikely not required income requirements but my view is maybe this will be lower.

monthly income (and other key topics) was deliberately not mentioned as they can always lock in your fixed deposit, and after months of waiting for your application approval, then change the rules of any key items so to screw you over, meanwhile your funds are locked and you can't do a damn thing about it - the gov ALWAYS have full and complete control the banks. it is an "application" subject to their subjective "approval" where key considerations can be change in a wimp as many had discovered after both loss of time and money. It is too RISKY to consider Malaysia. Just visit maybe for couple months at most, but don't stay there.

So just to be clear the old income requirements still apply to people ages 49 and up or are there new rules for this age group as well? Also, will spouses of LGBTQ couples be eligible? Thank you so much!

@@nomorenews It's not exactly illegal, but it's not recognized nor are LGBTQ rights protected. It's such hypocrisy as Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, himself, was jailed for sodomizing a male assistant.

This can be an easier option if you have $2k per month income: th-cam.com/video/B2loeFkltUE/w-d-xo.html

@@offshoreinasiayeah this is doable if income is $2k monthly. I would love to spend time living in Malaysia if I can convince my employer to let me work remotely and teams can allow me to start work 4 hours late because of the different time zones
