    We did a 5 day survival known as the Otter Trail in South Africa. This has to be one of the toughest things we have done, and were we prepared for it? Probably not!
    The Otter Trail is a 5 day hike through the Tsitsikama National Park in the western province of South Africa. This hike is 45km long, and the only thing that is provided is a hut for the night. This means we had to carry all that was needed for these 5 days on our back.

    I did the otter in 1982 with 65lb/30kg on my back......a bit rough on back. I can't remember well, but I think one ascends and descend 11 times over the trail, sea level to about 300-odd feet. A stiff climb, steep at places. One has to keep more weight on your neck and shoulders - army vet speaking here.
    You really shouldn't pollute that water prior to drinking it. Those rivers are super clean and the water au naturell is perfect. Chemicals can only ruin it. This isn't the Thames or the Hudson, or the Yangtse, after all. 😊

    after a hearty indonesian meal, you guys decide to move on to some serious physical activity and food concentrates... all this is compensated by the beautiful views of the ocean, somewhere beyond the horizon of Antarctica...

      while young, the main thing is not to get injured or poisoned, and fatigue will pass and strengthen endurance.

    Well done guy on completing the toughest day. When doing trail running a few years ago I always found the downhills far more difficult than going up. All that camera gear was adding so much weight to Dan's backpack.

      Thanks Raymonda😁 that camera gear was heavy but all worth it to make the video😁 i agree, downhills can be worse

    Is the river brown because of iron deposits? You guys moved so fast from the beach to the peak, 30min has to be a record for such a steep elevation, well done guys 👏👏❤❤

    • @thebuddymoon
      @thebuddymoon  ปีที่แล้ว

      We not sure why its brown but it apparently drinkable😮 but was a super steap climb, gosh... it still gives us nightmares thinking about it😜
