    I skipped "N" and "O"for now as I want to feature Tommie Bennett and Giri Watts specifically for those but our schedules haven't lined up yet. Other than the patience I talked about in this vid...Give yourself plenty of patience leaning to carve. It kind of can take a minute to learn to some extent, but perhaps a lifetime to master. That's the fun part though. :). Happy and safe shredding all!

    The big three things I teach are Patience, Commitment, and Fun! I literally on a whim today decided to have a student try linking turns with their hands behind their back as a way to push one's hips to the snow on toe edge, how serendipitous you post this on the same day. Inspired riding as always I'm going to picture that heel side when I'm carving!

    Excellent message Ryan! I will say though.. A lot of us are in groups and that really tests the patience concept.. It sucks being the intermediate rider trying to catch the others who are comfortable bombing a steep black diamond, because you're in danger by trying not to slow them down.. It also sucks waiting for the newbie who can't keep pace on Mello blue's or greens, because you can't get into the flow of a run.. It's unfortunate, but folks who can go solo during those sweet, sweet weekdays really have it the best... Thanks man!

It was my 5th day on a board (lesson included). Rode Colorado lift all the way down without falling, carving some and throwing some 180s, 360s, and 540s. It was nice. Last day tomorrow am. I’ve been inspired watching your videos.

    back in the early to mid 90s a teacher in my my high school was the coach for the high school ski team and he used to get me to carve on my board to show the ski team how they should have been carving on their edges. He saw the value of snowboarding and that not all of us made the hill icy. I have always been looking for that carve ;-)

    Hands down the most beautiful snowboarding I've ever seen. I need a Donek... I have size 14 feet and I need a 13in waist board and a moderate side cut for my feet not to drag. I desperately need a custom board to really get to the next level, but hey its rona-ing out there and I decided to go back to college for 2020 and now I can't freakin find a job. So no riding at all this season either! I hate my life. Yay! 😆😂😭🤮

  • @jpezman1
    @jpezman1 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hey Ryan, first off id like to say I'm a big fan of your riding, i stumbled upon your channel a couple years ago and i was blown away by your style. I come from a surfing/carve skate boarding background where i think the concept is similar because you are turning on rails. The only problem is that a wave lasts less than 30 sec. and then your paddling out to find another, this looks epic because its like having a 10min or longer wave. Just moved to Idaho for Paramedic School and would love to really "Carve" without dealing with booting out and having such a small side cut radius i have to slow down too much to get a good big carve in.
    Im 6,2" and 220lbs, 11.5 boot, Im in the middle of placing an order for an Incline from Donek. Donek's web site recommended me with these specs 162cm L, 30.5cm waist, and i was thinking about asking for a 10m side cut radius. I want something in between with not too much chatter for the high speed carving. I was just wondering if you could point me in the right direction, are these some proper specs i can work with? I want a board that i can grow into but also don't want to grow out of it after one or two seasons. Thanks Ryan for all your tutorials and sharing your vast wealth of pow knowledge! Kaplahhhh! haha

    Video idea & total slope fun:. Scope out an obstacle on the slope, lift towers in near flat terrain are best!, and 360 carve around it in a perfect circle and keep on going 👍. Requires "patience" when the carve goes uphill 🧐. Hint #1:: dont carve too deep (or drag body parts) cause it makes drag. Hint #2: it only really counts if u go in smoking hot, 30-40 mph 😁. So much fun 🤗🤗🤗🤗. Remember, a perfect circle,, not just a decreasing radius tail carve 👍.
