Isn't this the BEST version EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    Berlioz and Ann, best friends.
Her voice seems to fit perfect for this music and her silver....endlessly.....like long thread.

I am sorry to have to disagree with most of your assessments. For me by far the best version of this absolutely gorgeous aria is that of Susan Graham in a performance at La Monnaie in Brussels in 2002. She has the real mezzo voice which this aria really needs to bring out its beauty. You can find it here on YT and I would strongly recommend you try and see what you think.
And the orchestra with modern instruments sounds better too.

I'm afraid that I'm not entirely able to agree with you. I was lucky to hear Graham in Brussels and Hallenberg in this London concert. Listening to these clips now brings back great memories. Vocally I certainly don’t think that Garaham is superior to Hallenberg and I find Hallenberg's voice at least as beautiful for this music as Graham's. But this is of course a matter of taste. I do however, fully agree in regards to the orchestra.

Probably the best performance of this aria I've heard since Josephine Veasey. The use of "period" instruments is IMO a stupid fashion (much loved by Elliot Gardiner) - they are simply inferior in tone, end of story.
