They knew where they sailing, not in the way we know it today, but many historians claimed that they had, long time before the viking period started, a lot of connections to the thier saxon and frisian neighbours in todays northern germany and the netherlands. They also knew about the invasions and the countless murderes from thier neighbours which suffered against the roman empire. Some danish lords helped the frisians against the romans like the famous danish/frisian leader Rodbod. This connection broke after the romans united parts of germany and the netherlands under the frankish kings like charlemagne. On the otherhand they had a large historie of merchantship and setteling in the black sea area and constantinople as well. So all this informations about the places like england, ireland, france, eastern europe, constantinople and so on where available for them. All they had to do was to collect the informations. They hadn't navigation systems like us, but the a lot of informations about the routes from the former sailers and merchants which also went to the places like them and the help of some allied locals too.

The Ravens call….. Odens Ravens. Oden, the half brother of Loki and the father of Thor. The Ravens just assured the woman that Oden was with her. 💯❤️❤️

I'd say it was more like that they knew their death was coming and they could die any day and they accepted it.. i'd also i kind a share the same idea with them on that.
Also dude i'd like to hear what you think on my vocal cover of this song :D
