  • No idea what's up with the campers, just try watch my speedruns, see if it makes any sense...
    Try note how the car handles throughout the footage, you might need to watch bits more than once. I found that it actually appears from the footage how it fares, let me know what you think...
    And then there is a bit where I talk about all this, probably forgetting to mention over half of what needs to be said.
    Speedruns are NOT to be taken lightly!!

    A very interesting and entertaining video, Mads! Wow, you had fun on that car park! I was impressed at how straight the car ran at speed, and how you could still control it well. However, I was wincing at the sound of the bevel gears slipping, oh my! I get that sound from my Neo Scorcher (13.5T 3300kv brushless) when I apply the brakes fully. My son stripped the front bevel gear on his (the bevel gears on each end of the propshaft slip on the ring gears of the differentials). I'd beef those up before applying more voltage or higher gearing if I were you! All the best my good friend, have a smashing weekend! :O)

      You weren't the only one, mate. Did a little wincing at the grinding noises myself LOL.

      Oh, yes, if you were wincing at that sound, imagine how bad I felt about it, ha ha! I tried to ease in the throttle but mostly I forgot and just hammered it, ha ha!
      It was doing this already when I ran the Torque Tuned on it. I did take the gears apart in the beginning to check if I had assembled them wrongly but it looked alright.
      I think maybe I misunderstood the advise Mark gave me on Facebook, so I just let them continue to gradually kill themselves, but apparently they're still alive.
      I think I just have to spend more money on this car over the winter, I will also be replacing the prop shaft, it's rubbing, I think it's simply too thick when it's plastic.
      Anyway, that was enough rambling, thanks for the great comment and advice, Mark, have a great weekend, I'm looking forward to watching that paint video of yours (I already watched it once last night).

      @madsrcbuggy  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Guy! Yeah, I really like the paint job on this, except it looks a bit like a Subway logo... But I like the bright metallic colour as opposed to the latest ones I have been painting which are too dark...
      Yeah, the speedruns were really valuable to me, I learned a lot, but I also got a lot more to try out and learn. That's part of the joy of the hobby, right?

    Pining gear and your spur gear are not set right

    • @madsrcbuggy
      @madsrcbuggy  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Doug! Yeah, that car needs a full rebuild, I need to learn how to shim the gears and ensure all is nice and smooth. No gears chewed, though, just the nasty noise, ha ha!

    Nice, Mads! The greed for speed got you 😅🙂 I like that term. Anyways, good run. The high rpm motor in the end might be alright - but maybe it isn’t getting the power it needs and maybe the gear ratio can’t handle it. Or maybe it’s having trouble with the weight of the car and the friction to get up to full rpm. Or maybe the gears are broken? That sound? I bet the bevel gears on the drive shaft are slipping or maybe even the spur? Or maybe the bevel gears inside the diff are broken? Are you running the stock plastic ones? They might be too weak to handle those motors. GPM Racing makes some steel ones that will be hard to break. Rather expensive though. I will run an experiment with mine. Getting the gear ratio up and higher rpm motors and then see when the gears will break. I think it is un-avoidable. Anyways, loved the video. It was a really cool experiment. And a lot of fun it seems - even with the people there etc. good job, my friend. Looking forward seeing what you will do with it next year.

      Ouyeah, Mikael, it is kind of addictive, I must say! But I doubt I'll become a dedicated speedrun guy, I got so much other stuff I like, which is of course the beauty of the hobby. The next stuff I got going is some waterproof all-weather RC's for the Finnish winter, looking forward to get started on them, ha ha!
      Yeah, I'm puzzled about that motor mystery. I had it out one more time on a fresh battery, I got 64 km/h, so I think it acts like a 4500kV that was just labelled wrong from factory, who knows? I don't think I'm going to bother much more with it, might try measure RPM at different voltages but only if I'm very bored during the winter...
      And yes, I definitely need to put some more money towards those gears, I already also decided to "upgrade" the propshaft, I'm guessing the plastic one takes up double space of what the metal one does, very valuable real estate inside the TT-02 chassis...
      Thanks for the nice comment, my friend, I really appreciate this amazing RC community on TH-cam, and have a great weekend!

    Mate, you got some really good speeds there! It definitely gets the heart rate up LOL. Just btw, i've discovered through trial and error that higher KV doesn't necessarily mean higher speed. And just wondering, I was hearing a grinding type noise. Not sure if I'm just hearing things, though LOL. I reckon you'll have the speed run bug now, dude!👊😎

    • @madsrcbuggy
      @madsrcbuggy  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, Matt, I definitely got that bug now, ha ha!
      But just like you, I am also playing around with other stuff, crawlers and smaller crawlers and stuff, so it's about finding my niche in RC. It's mostly the buggies, I must say!
      Regarding that 5200kV motor, I guess maybe I should try measuring it, I do have a tachometer somewhere, but not sure I even want to bother with it...
      Now it's winter upon me here, I think I need to focus on my "all weather" rigs, and then hopefully get back to this in a half year's time!
      Have a good one, mate! Looking forward to seeing your mighty Infraction on the road, and your mighty Gatekeeper on the rocks, ha ha!
