  • Pristina is the capital and largest city of Kosovo. It is the administrative center of the eponymous municipality and district.
Following the end of the First Balkan War in 1914, it became a part of the newly formed Kingdom of Serbia. In 1948, it was chosen as the capital of the province SAP Kosovo under the statehood of Yugoslavia. Furthermore, Pristina would continue to serve as the capital of Kosovo after its 2008 independence from Serbia.

The statue is Skandenberg...I visited Albania recently, fascinating history behind him. A hero and leader of the rebellion against the Ottomans. I visited the museum in Kruje dedicated to him and uploaded a video about him and his attachment to Albania and the surrounding countries on my channel. As for the dogs, there are many in Albania, I saw a lot walking around Shkoder especially, but there they are looked after by local charities who vaccinate and feed them well. If you liked Kosovo then give Albania a visit. People there are overwhelmingly friendly also. 🙂

That’s statue is George Kastrioti-Scanderbeg, Scanderbeg named after Alexander the Great, apparently Iscander in Turkish means Alexander. He was very successful general in Ottoman Empire, supposedly he suppose to fight Hungary in Nish Serbia then he deserted ottoman army with 300 of his man and returned to Kruja Albania and defended Albania until his death.
Love your video and the way you interact with people.

You never learn much about another country if you can't speak their language.

I always try to learn, but as I travel to many countries, it’s difficult to learn the languages of all the countries I plan to visit

ButI don't understand the reason why some people want Kosovo to be back to Serbia. For what? Both countries are poor with a lot of economy problem. The government of Serbia can't give a better standard of living to the 7 million people living in that land. Why do they want more land and more poor people they cannot offer a better life and also are and extra cost for the Serbian government? It's always like that the politicians can't offer a better standard of living to the people of their country and go to war looking for more land and to bring their misery to other countries. It is like a poor man who has one wife that he can't support and is looking to have one more wife. Look what happened with all the countries the Soviet union took over, what did they bring to those but poverty and misery. All of them were in ruins when the Russian government left those countries. Now take a look to the economy of every country the US took over, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Japan, Virgin Islands and so on. The difference is the US was a rich country and was able to bring some prosperity to those countries. On the other hand Russia was a poor country bringing poverty to the countries they invaded.
