I remember when Battlefield 3 Beta came out. I had a GTX310 laptop. Played the beta at 20fps. It was so worth it. Now look at steam deck do it with everything on ultra. Technology have come a long way.

Just do a windows debloat or install a custom windows for gaming like ghost spectre or atlasos, i personally tired both and it makes a huge difference in performance but I'm not so sure about security on these, that's why i have it on Dual boot with SteamOS, windows strictly for gaming, works well.

Hey! Battlefield 5 and 2042 with EA's new anti cheat they can't be played on SteamOS anymore, they updated this a few days ago. You would need Windows on your deck to play those

I'm an old fan of BF, i played each opus between 1000/4000 hours exept the one 200 hours) and the V (80hours), i miss it even if i know the 2042 is not my style... you know sometimes i built a pc or buy a Consol only for these games, BUT to spend 1 month of work in a machine juste for running the 2042 when it was just released 😒. Anyway it will be good to try it ~fluid on the SD, or go back on the old one ^^ Thx for your answer! 👍 have good frags!

Looks like steamdeck's CPU is worse than mine i5 7400 because setting mesh quality (level of detail) helps with maintaining 60fps at least in most cases.

Is BF multiplayer worth it though? Since Steam Deck is considered a PC in games, you'll play against mouse and keyboard users, who will have the advantage over you both in terms of performance and controls
for 5 and 2042 the majority of the player base is on console so you can still compete with most its the older ones where you will find mostly pc players but just because they are using kb & m doesn't mean they are good though.
@@stevenmarquez4476only Battlefield 2042 has crossplay between current system. Meaning it's the only Battlefield game to allow you to play against PS5 and Xbox players, as well as PC. There is no cross-generation play either, though. So keep that in mind.
На Windows всё равно выкидывает из Battlefield-3 каждые 2 минуты вне зависимости от сервера. Играю в Battlefield 2042 в режиме с ботами на 64 игрока, игра ужасно тормозит. Действительно, такое ощущение будто вернулся в те времена, когда Battlefield 4 или Ведьмак 3 тормозили на моем стареньком ноутбуке.

Windows on steam deck just isn't optimized man. Other games stutter as well. Just not worth having Windows on Steam Deck

Bf 2042 runs from 60 to 70 fps on my rog ally at 720p playable...it is A lot CPU limited not the gpu for the ally

No, it's in fact better with controller but with gyro alongside it, once you discover gyroscope you can never go back, super intuitive.
