Ayon kay Prof. Herman Daly, dating Senior Economist ng World Bank "Banks create money out of nothing and lend it with interest." Pakipaliwanag please.
If the BSP controls the inflation rate and has tools to regulate the inflation rate bakit ang taas parin ng inflation sa Bansa, last time I heard 8 percent. Im questioning effective ba talaga yung mga tools nyo to regulate the speed of inflation. Then hindi ata talaga 8 percent yung inflation in reality parang more Pa kasi food prices ai x2 Na from the orignal price.
Since your comment po is last year pa (2023), I want to comment lang po na as of May 2024, ang inflation rate po natin ay nasa 3.9 % (from PSA website). I wonder where you heard such info na 8% ang ating inflation rate which is super high nya. I hope you don't mind my comment po.
If tumaas yung money supply, bababa ang demand.
Increase in money supply leads to inflation. The solution is to decrease the money supply. If the money supply decreases, bababa din po yung demand and magkakaroon din ng decrease in inflation. What the bsp do in their monetary policy is to increase the reserve requirement and increase discount rate when commercial bank loan money from them. There are also selling/buying of bonds that are part of one of the monetary tools which is open market operations (omo).
Money supply is the money na umiikot sa ekonomiya like yung hawak mismo ng bawat individual. Pag marami silang pera, tataas yung purchasing power nila. Since tumaas ang demand, tataas ang prices since/if mas konti ang supply. Ika nga higher employment = higher prices/inflation.
Sir may tanong po ako and I emailed the bsp and no luck reply. Who is the owner of banko sentral ng pilipinas? BSP website says ownership independent to the government.
Bakit tindi ng money printing natin since 2014? Lagpas doble ng money printing ng ibang bansa at same period.
