According to Fate Lore, the reason why Gil uses his 'Gate of Babylon' this way (shoots NPs like arrows) was in order to match Enkidu 'Age of Babylon' which created clay weapons and launched them like missiles.
In short, Gil became an Archer because he had to counter Enkidu.
That is how strong Enkidu is in Lore

It wasn’t until the gods sent the divine priestess, Shamhat, who lay with Enkidu and taught him for two weeks did he gain consciousness and intelligence. As gratitude Enkidu took the form of Shamhat, the most beautiful person he’s known. So that’s a woman’s form but Enkidu is clay so they’re really everything lol.

Dude was strong enough to not tank, but COUNTER Enuma Elish from Gilgamesh...TWICE...without breaking a sweat.
This is from a sword that, once crystalized, represented a firm boundary between the Heavens and the Earth, and its usage can rend the very fabric of space/time, supposedly even capable of forcibly separating spatial dimensions if need-be.
He countered that...TWICE.

That's because Enkidu's Enuma Elish is more focused on the creation aspect of Enuma Elish, which is the mesopatamian creation myth. Basically everytime Gil draws that boundary, Enkidu erases the line.
He's the best counter for Ea, neither is weaker not stronger than Ea but stands equal to it. It's not a battle to win but to enjoy the reunion 😌
Enkidu is OP as Gilgamesh, only not pop enough cause he didnt get all the adaptations attentions. Takes a little on FATE GO, but only mentioned, but you can see his importance to Gil there (Kingu doesnt count as Enkidu). To see more about Enkidu you have to play fate go and thats not a thing many people do.
Plus: He is a godamn good Lancer unit with some amazing skills, his healing factor is absurd and If evolved properly his Enuma Elish is a single blow killer move, Gil's EA hardly is, as its a AW NP, which means It tackles all targets, and these types of NP are hardly OP (save Mordred, Clarent Blood Artur is OP).

THe moment he realizes it's Enkidu, he pulls out Ea with zero hesitation, his most prized possession, a weapon that he wouldn't even consider using on someone unworthy of merely seeing it. Using it as essentially a greeting to his best friend. That alone shows just how much Gil respects and loves Enkidu. Truly the greatest bromance in history.
if you read the epic of gilgamesh, you may interpret that their relationship is arguably not just a bromance, it's a full on romance. many times was it described that "Gilgamesh loved enkidu like a wife".

Let's just say that after some years of watching anime with subs, I understand almost everything, I'm still learning some of the words that have kanji in them but yeah, I understand like 90% of what the characters say. Learning japanese from watching subbed anime is slow but effective way to learn spoken japanese and the language in general if you know the differences with some of the double meaning kanji language because, from anime, you know the context of what is happening and what is what.

@@wrought-ironheroEMIYA it’s not like I’m angry about the character, she is in fact one of my favourites, what I’m meaning is that it would be refreshing that we have a completely new batch of characters who are unrelated to the characters of stay night compete in a new grail war, I get she is one of the most important legends in the Nasuverse but that’s just it, she’s ‘one of’ the legends. There are countless other mythical characters that haven’t been given the spot light yet and it would be interesting to see type moons interpretations of those characters. Also the reason I’m not complaining about Gilgamesh here is because of Enkidu, we never truly get to see how he acts around him in FGO so it would be interesting to see how their relationship truly works.

財宝の中にも魔力補給出来るアイテムはあるし素の魔力生成量もサーヴァントの中ではズバ抜けてるらしいから慢心無くせばやっぱり誰にも止められない
最悪マスター死んでもアーチャー固有の単独行動で暫くは生きられるから何とかなるやろ(財宝ブッパは知らん)
エアと鎖、ヴィマーナ以外の宝物庫に納めている宝具の性能を100%引き出す事は出来ないというデメリットを抱えているとはいえ、対軍宝具や対城宝具を嵐の様に発射するのは他のサーヴァントでも防ぐ事は出来ない。
