THIS MOVIE IS FANTASTIC! AND THE SONG TOO, I HOPE TO FIND ANOTHER MOVIES LIKE THIS
Superbly eerie, calculatedly creepy score of the great 1964 B horror noir flick, THE NIGHT WALKER. Recommended viewing and listening! Thanks for posting
Some of Vic Mizzy's best music! What a creepy classic!
Getting a compliment from Composer Bernard Herrmann speaks volumes as well.
I was terrified by this movie as a kid. Never forgot the theme music, which still gives me a chill,
Parts of this theme was also used for the 1972 MFTV version of The Hound of the Baskervilles which starred Stewart Granger, Bernard Fox, Bill Shatner and Sally Ann Howes.
This movie had my friend and I loosing our minds till the last maybe 8 minutes.
This was also used for the 1972 TV Movie HOUND OF THE BASKERVILLES starring Stewart Granger and William Shatner.
This had to be a dream project for Master Castle... a horror film from the writer of Psycho. I've been a fan of Vic Mizzy's music for as long as I can remember... the TV themes and don't forget the Ghost and Mr. Chicken's organ piece. What a thrill master!
This is a great post. No one knows about this movie! How did you learn of it?
Bought everything Mizzy had on cd years ago at reasonable prices. That includes the Percepto, RCA, and Chapter III releases.
LOVE IT!! Can you get the WHOLE SOUNDTRACK on TH-cam? I love to hear it before Halloween 2013 with a glass of whiskey and a shot of tequila and pretend I was young again I'm 61 years ...I saw the movie and I WAS SCARED !!!
My friend, if you are still thrilled by this music, you will ALWAYS be young!
Opening four notes are a direct lift from the musical Oliver (1960), "Food, Glorious Food" I believe the song is.
saw that movie in my youth in black and white, not a great movie, but what a great soundtrack!
I have the sheet music for this from the Vic Missy archive at UCLA. I'm working with Vic's publisher to get permission to print new arrangements of this and other spooky Lizzy songs. I will keep you posted.
I hope that your able to get permission to do so, I would love to get some sheet music for the piano of some of Vic Mizzy's music. Keep us posted.
..highly descreptive music.. in a brilliant way...the horror!
Wow, I just looked in the internet a friend of mine said AMAZON has it ....BUT, they want about $149.00 for the CD...MAN, I really wish I could get it I WOULD if I COULD d0~0b
Boy the cover art of this has ZERO to do with the actual film.
The first horror movie I ever saw at eight years old. Sleepless nights for weeks and an obsession with the horror genre since.
Watching it again forty years later, I completely understand why the opening five minutes completely freaked me out. Mental.
