Oh Wendi Sue, I could feel your excitement coming through the video, what a fabulous time you have had making memories and meeting memorable people :) Thank you for sharing your experience xx
Pier Gustafson has a channel on TH-cam, which is fun. He is at the Commonwealth Pen Show too because he lives in Massachusetts, where I am. If you watch Waski Squirrel, you are probably familiar with his “Pier Gustafson test” where he sees if the pen will keep up with fast scribbling. When Jason (Mr. Squirrel) had Pier on his show, they had a good time, but Pier did seem a little peeved that his calligraphic flourishes had inspired Jason to name the scribbling portion of his show after Pier. (:
This was so much fun to watch! I love hearing about people's experiences at pen shows. I just signed up for a table at the St Louis Pen Show again this summer and I love watching people's post pen show videos as I get everything ready for this summer. Last year was my first pen show and I'm so glad I had a table. I was able to sell a bunch of stuff that I no longer used but it also gave me the opportunity to talk to lots of people. Like you said, we're among our people there. 😀
@@SeaweedKisses it's so great to have a record of EVERYTHING I tried and did!! But I recommend using a notebook with excellent paper so that if someone hands you a Montblanc with a bespoke 3.0 mm nib to try, as they did me, my paper stood up to it! Let me know what show you decide to go to!
Wendi Sue, you’re so cute! I love your laugh! Thanks for the update, it’s always fun to live vicariously through others! Sounds like an awesome show! 🥳
Hi Wendie! I am so happy to hear how your trip went. I'm going to Chicago in May - solo. I'm NERVOUS! It sounds like the lounge would be a good place to break into the groups hah. Also so fun about the guy who wrote your names - such a fun memory! Great tip about the notebook!! Do all of the shows have their own ink? I want to see Les!!
It is a good place to break in - most people are there to be social and make friends. And try pens!! Not every show has a show ink but I bet Chicago will! Les goes to Chicago I think!!
Congrats on your workshops (including the second round at the bar)! It sounded so fun!! Thanks for the great tips as well. I’m going to take your advice on dedicating a notebook to pen testing! Also - note to self as an introvert - find Wendi Sue at a pen show!! 🥰
@@ruthfeiertag the greek key is so gorgeous. I feel so lucky to have it. Maybe sometime you can try it! The combo with the 14k BB nib is really something!
What fun you had at that show and your enthusiasm is infectious. It was fun seeing my calligraphic skills plummet! You could call the baby poop color the term the French Aristocracy used for a popular color of the 1700s: “Caca-dauphin” which translates to “royal baby-shit brown”.
Great video.thanks for sharing
Thank you for watching! It was so fun to get to tell about it!

Yes! That's why I recognized his name. It was so fun to talk to him!
Wow! You had such a great time! I love the idea of that postcard notebook. I'll have to get one the next time I'm in the States.
It was incredible. I'm the luckiest girl!
@FountainPenNews I think you are making your own luck. You really put yourself out there!

@ the DC pen show is on my list. Hoping to make it happen this year. The SF one would be nice as well
Thanks for sharing your experience. I have to live the experience through everyone's videos :)
