Nice vid! I also found the scabbard quality and grip thickness to be the main drawbacks of this blade.

Yea, the blade is actually not too bad... Good thing I'm good at woodworking, time to mod

@@the.wandering.warrior Can you document the process? I would be interested to see the handle construction under the wrap & rayskin, as well as any changes you make to the handle

During Yin Ching’s times! Didn’t they used the Goose Feather sword? Is the Willow Leaf the most common 😬

is it the curve of the grip? That whole ergonomic thing usually messes with me. Personally I prefer a straighter grip. i can't wait to see what you do with it. How does one wrap like that? it seems beyond what my numb and clumsy fingers can do. I have fairly little feeling in my finger tips and never was blessed with much fine motor dexterity. Nice, fair review..

A HEMA guy would do some cutting and find out if the blade will take an edge.

Well imma fix the handle, sharpen it up and do some more cutting than I did just there but I'm not strictly a HEMA guy. What's your point?

@@the.wandering.warrior If it is a good weapon, it will take an edge, and not fall apart when you hit something with it. There is no point I guess if it is just something you want to hold while you dance with it. Can you fence with it, will it cut well? What happens if you bang it off of another weapon, or some guy’s skull. A swordsman wants a serviceable weapon.

@@ziggydog5091 This all seems kind of obvious. You likely haven't followed me for long. Anyways, as with all previous blades, I'll do what I'll do and document it. If you end up liking what I put out, please like and share it.

Beautiful Dao. Don't change the handle brother, just work on strengthen your fingers.

My fingers are plenty strong, the handle just doesn't fit my hand well, and I have handled sabers whose grips actually fit my hand well so I know what that feels like.
