It would have been better with neither. They already have so many people that are involved in the Bloodline story, they didn't need Austin or UT. Having Randy, Kevin, Sami, Jey, LA Knight, even AJ run down and stop the BL interference to finally leave Roman to have to face Cody one on one would have been a brilliant move, but they let all of those past threads drop for a nostalgia pop.
@@phineaspoe1978 I really would have liked Sami involved. I would have ranked it Sami > Austin > Randy/Kevin/Knight > Undertaker. The Randy/Kevin/Knight group would have needed the Bloodline to add to their ranks to bump them up for me.

He can take it, he went over a year without getting pinned or submitted (longer than either Roman or Cody) heading into Mania, didn't take the pinfall in the Night One main event, and still put in 10 valiant minutes with several believable near falls against Mcintyre after wrestling over 40 minutes the night before with a bad knee and a bad back. And he was also pivotal to the finish of the night two main event, although yes, he did look absolutely knackered. But who wouldn’t be after everything he had already done?
The sentence “It was a glass break away from getting to 4 3/4 stars” broke my brain. That’s not how star ratings work? I guess if that’s how you want to define them that’s fine.

Seth vs Drew: 3.5. They worked within their limitations because of Seth's injury and did a bunch of finishers. Entertaining, but I wont watch it again. Still not sure what a mummer is. The Pride vs Final Testament: 2. It was a match that I knew they'd throw everything at to try and make it interesting, and for me they failed. The nostalgia of Bubba being there did nothing for me because in order for me to miss you, you have to go away and Bubba's not only stunk up the indies for like the past 5 years, but also has his own radio show. Snoop can't save'em all. Pump kick from B-Fab looked stiff though. AJ Styles vs LA Knight: 3. It was a match, maybe the best Knight's had on main roster without a dog and pony show attached, but I barely remember it in hindsight and really didn't like AJ's new music. U.S. Title Triple Threat: 3.5. Solid and fun enough. Paul continues to impress, but I was hoping for a surprise from the prime bottle mascot instead of KSI again. I'm also enjoying KO's meta breaking with the usual triple threat drama of two guys who like each other wanting to win the match. Bayley vs Iyo: 4 stars. Some of Bayley's best work since coming back from injury and Iyo is Iyo. Glad Damage CTRL was neutralized and we got a stright one-on-one. No clue what the whole Egypt aesthetic was for Bayley though. Cody vs Roman: 4.5. It'll be the most memorable thing about the weekend and was a blast to watch, but like the opener it's just not something I can see myself craving to go back and watch and that's a big part of my scoring. Glad they got time to wrestle before Bloodline, Jey, and the legends came into play though.

I had 5 stars for the final match. I though HHH booked that brilliantly with Seth playing into it. Wrestling wise maybe wasn't 5 stars but the dramatic and story elements were all there. Amazing to see HHH in action
I agree on just about everything stated here except for two things. Snoop Dogg being great on commentary. I muted my TV after a little while until the match was over. I find him to be so annoying. And I would've went a little higher on the main event (4.75) because I was almost totally convinced that Roman was retaining. Not that I wanted that to happen. Just that I thought it would. So, when Cody actually got the pin I was pretty fired up for him. That being said, it's not something that I'll ever want to watch again. So, I don't think that it reached that five star level.
Seth Rollins vs. Drew McIntyre: 3.75 The Pride vs. The Final Testament: 2.5 AJ Styles vs. LA Knight: 3 Logan Paul vs. Randy Orton vs. Kevin Owens: 2.75 Bayley vs. Iyo Sky: 3.5 but I’d like to rewatch it because I think I was very annoyed by the previous match and that could’ve clouded my judgement Cody Rhodes vs. Roman Reigns: 5 The main event was one of the best WrestleMania history in my opinion. Last year’s might’ve been slightly better in terms of the actual wrestling but the totality of the moment brought this year’s to 5 stars for me. Those two have chemistry you can’t teach and I hope there’s a third one in the future. Rest of the show was mostly good too, certainly better than Night 1. LOVED the cash-in at the beginning.
It's time to finish the story; DiabeticMan getting the WrestleMania 40 night 2 star ratings out before those *OTHER GUYS* : Rollins/McIntyre: 3.5 (the pre and post match was better than the match, but what a way to kick off Mania night 2) The Pride/Final Testament: 1.5 (this was worse than Jimmy/Jey imho) Knight/Styles: 3.75 (exceeded my expectations, that avalanche german suplex by Knight was sensational) US title triple threat: 4.25 (just a fun match) Bayley/Lio Sharai: 4 (both ladies killed it) Cody/Roman: 4.75 (a near perfect match imho, the perfect conclusion to Cody's story)
So basically a few shills suggest stone cold might be there. You guys spread fake rumour that stone cold might be there (fair enoughreporting rumours i get). Then despite epic cameos from some of the biggest names in the history of the industry with actual storyline rationale.... you deduct points because they didn't give you the fake rumour you helped spread? Thats the worst. Regardless of the fact that austin would have made no sense at all. Match was a perfect end to the longest most finely told story in wrestling history. But... 'wheres my glass shatters?'
I’m sorry these are just as big of a joke as Dave’s rating lol…If AEW did this same match with there star and told just an ok story it would have been 5 + stars 😂😂😂
it is their opinions. Star ratings are inherently just a way for a critic to express their view on matches. No one likes every movie critic. You find the ones you trust; and then go off of their recommendations. You have to remember; the star rating system was started in the 80s; when people didnt have access to seeing every match (particularly Puerto Rico, Japan; and Mexican wrestling), so the ratings were sort of a way to help you seek out certain tapes (tape trading) or just to know which wrestlers were hot at the time. I still use the ratings that way; because i am not gonna sit and watch 10 hours of wrestling a week

Whoa. I liked Drew vs Seth, but giving that 4.75 makes you lose credibility fast lol.
Oh gosh, I’m still watching… this applies to Bayley vs Iyo also lol.
@@puffdaddy6488or they have different opinions
Lose credibility. Just like...Those others guys
@@DR.64A9Completely agree with this too lol.
Does anyone still believe Cody shouldn't have won the title last year?
Yes
Drew McIntyre: 3.75
The Pride vs. The Final Testament: 2.5
AJ Styles vs. LA Knight: 3
Logan Paul vs. Randy Orton vs. Kevin Owens: 2.75
Bayley vs. Iyo Sky: 3.5 but I’d like to rewatch it because I think I was very annoyed by the previous match and that could’ve clouded my judgement
Cody Rhodes vs. Roman Reigns: 5
The main event was one of the best WrestleMania history in my opinion.
Championship matches should be straight up one on one. No shenanigans. It makes the championship more credible.
Why not just apply that to every match then so that every victory is credible
Credible and boring.
Score
Team R-KO baybay
It's time to finish the story; DiabeticMan getting the WrestleMania 40 night 2 star ratings out before those *OTHER GUYS* :
Rollins/McIntyre: 3.5 (the pre and post match was better than the match, but what a way to kick off Mania night 2)
The Pride/Final Testament: 1.5 (this was worse than Jimmy/Jey imho)
Knight/Styles: 3.75 (exceeded my expectations, that avalanche german suplex by Knight was sensational)
US title triple threat: 4.25 (just a fun match)
Bayley/Lio Sharai: 4 (both ladies killed it)
Cody/Roman: 4.75 (a near perfect match imho, the perfect conclusion to Cody's story)
What are you even complaining about
It’s just one man’s opinion. Me. I am that man.
First.
Dude finally figured out internet ratings
Holy shit go back to school
@@IAEMThatIAEM it was a joke lol 😂
LA Knight should’ve been in the Taker spot
Imagine the pop when his song came on
Roman vs cody was probably Romans best performance in his career. I think it was 5 star match
