Considering I'm only 2 mins in to the video and realise that you can't find a Party Seven or a Little Chef even here in the UK I'm thinking this video might have the wrong title 🤣
Authentic Scottish Haggis, Bovril, and multiple flavors of crisps : all things I really want to try. I am an Anglophile living in the United States of America.
While we do not have authentic Cornish pasties, Michigan (USA) does have pasties. They are a staple in Michigan's upper peninsula. They were brought here by Cornish miners who came to mine the copper mines in the U.P.
Little Chef is sadly missed, apparently killed off by Euro Garages, who replaced them with branches of Burger King at their service stations and elsewhere where possible. I miss most the unique and incredible "Jubilee Pancake", launched in Silver Jubilee year 1977 and consisting basically of a pancake, filled with cherry pie filling and Ice cream. Awesome. I also love my Henry hoover. It "may not be the best", but for the price and it's power and reliability, it's excellent. The world is missing out on these two items and until the Jubilee Pancake is reintroduced somewhere else, so are we. Bring back the Jubilee Pancake!!
EG Didn't kill it off as such, they bought what was essentially a dying brand (along with the sites). There were only about 70 still open when they bought it in 2017, from 439 in 2000. Kout Food Group still own the trademarks to the Little Chef name. EG were only allowed to use the name for a year, some were rebranded as EG Diner in their final days. Speaking to some of the staff in those final days, EG did try to keep them (the staff) going in the new outlets (Greggs, Starbucks, BK etc.) but it didn't work for some. I heard that Starbucks refused to have outlets on sites where there would be other brands in the same building?
Aw, I miss Little Chef and they actually did genuinely decent food, sure, it was cheap and somehwere you went when you pulled into a service station sure, but the ood was, actually pretty good. I do wish there was something like that. Costa just doesn't cut it. Anyone know of any good places to get a full English when coming off the motorway or a good bite to eat?
I loved little Chef! Free baby food and ots of fun for young children. Food was ok and not to expencive. There's nothing else which could compare with thin Restaurant chain.
Little chef was always aimed at car drivers, truck drivers went to truck stops and cafes which had much bigger parking facilities for HGVs, Little Chef car parks were too small for trucks. Henry Hoovers while not the best for suction are very well built and often used in industry and building sites, most of the time without a bag.
Sorry but Cornish Pasties are available in South Australia. As Australia is not part of the EU the Cornish Pasty was allowed in Australia, In fact, the Cornish pasty most likely arrived in South Australia earlier than 1841. By this time, some 941 Cornish families had taken advantage of the offer of free passage to the new colony. However, after the 1841 discovery of silver and lead at Glen Osmond, near Adelaide, their numbers increased. The mining of tin in Cornwall was in decline and experienced miners were now in high demand in South Australia. The immigrants, of course, brought their food preferences with them, including the Cornish Pasties. I also believe the Cornish Pasties went to Mexico as well with the miners there also.
This particular Watch Mojo countdown makes me question how accurate they are. I live in New Zealand where we had Noel's house party on TV along with Mr Blobby in the 90's, Henry hoovers can be purchased here as well as cornish pasties at certain bakeries and supermarkets.
Cornish pasties are pretty much outlawed her in the UK unless they're from Cornwall. Obviously you can still get them but unless they're actually made in Cornwall they have to be called "potato and vegetable". Or so legend says, I haven't checked pasty politics lately. More importantly, you get Watch Mojo UK in New Zealand? This alters the Matrix in ways not previously thought possible. I have to take a moment 😐
@@VanDiemensLander True but they're not "proper" Cornish pasties. I had one in a cafe in the Blue Mountains once and it was truly revolting, not just the filling but the pastry too. I reckon my then 5-year-old could have done a better job! 🤣
That's because BBC children's programs were on ABC and NZTV (Thomas the tank engine, Postman Pat, Fireman Sam and Danger Mouse being my favourites) and the Cornish Pasties are protected in the UK like champagne is in France. ....got to be made to stringent quality in the region of that name
I used to be petrified of my Grandma's orange and black Vax hoover, every time I went to my grandparents house if my Gran was hoovering up either my Granddad or my mum or older brother used to have to carry me into the kitchen and get me a drink and a biscuit and stay with me until my Grandma finished hoovering this was in the early 90's when I was a toddler and I loved Mr Blobby 😂❤ miss the good old 90's
There are still keg beers in other brands, just look in your local big supermarket. Has anyone seen, the seagull nicking a packet of crisps from a Greggs video, on TH-cam? 😁 Tizer is easily found in small grocery stores, in large towns and any city, along with other AG Barr's soft drinks. Mr Blobby appeals to very small kids, because he acts like they sometimes do, but gets away with it. 😁
Kind of glad Gregg's is a small footnote in the south West. We still have proper bakeries and pasty shops. Then it doesn't exist in Cornwall. Remember having my first Gregg's and almost spitting it out. Give me a Pullins or Parsons anyday.
Protected name status doesn't guarantee qualty. To prove a point, a chef setup a field kitchen straddling the border between Cornwall and Devon. He made a pastie to the Cornish pastie recipe on either side of the border. The one made on the Cornwall side was vastly inferior to the one made on the Devon side, and yet it was the only one allowed to be called a Cornish Pastie, despite the one made 5ft away (in Devon) being of a much better quality.
You'd struggle to find a Greggs in Cornwall. I'd never even heard of it until I tried to find a pasty shop in Southampton and someone suggested it. I've never been so disgusted by a so-called "pasty" in my life! 😆
Because Godfrey's (who imported them) sold it as a retail/commercial vacuum.......they ONLY sold them to ABN holders😂 Now Godfrey's has become defunct we can buy them for our homes
I live in Cornwall. A pasty has crimping on the side. Beef skirt. Turnip, potato and onion and aalt and pepper. Thats it. No carrots or peas like they have up north. That's not a real pasty
0:33 remember that Time that SpongeBob was about to drink Hot sauce in that classic Episode and I thought it was Tom Kenny for a minute there 😂 btw I’m from the US 🇺🇸
I studied A-level politics and if you look into the House of Lords it really isn't a big deal. Its mainly made up of experts from their respective fields and they can actually provide some useful insight. They can veto legislation like I said, but this can be overruled. So realistically they don't do much.

I LOVE the concept of a Henry Hoover lol ❤
Yeah Henry's brilliant
I work at a pizza hut that uses Henry. All I can say is that he is tired.

Henry Hoover is in a lot of major hotels here in Australia 😊
The hotel I used to work in has one. I live in Canada
They're easily accessible here as well
He also has a girlfriend hoover as well Henrietta.
I've been saying this for years Mr Blobby for PM. Imagine any international negotiations if that came running out
We'd never have any trouble ever again
Mr Bobby for PM? We did come close with Boris 🤠
@@tinacox2989 that’s offensive to poor mr blobby 🤣😭
If Waldo from "Black Mirror" did it, so can Mr. Blobby.
I went to high school in New Zealand, and our school hostel only used Henry hoovers. I saw the Edward (slightly taller version) used in hospitals
There is also Hetty Hoover, the pink version.
"Little Chef" did not line "motorways up and down the county". They could however be found on many major "A" roads.
Can’t beat a good old Cornish pasty!! Yum!! Henry is a Legend the world is missing out 😂🤣

We have Burger King in Australia......well only one state (WA) and I didn't think they had gone international 😂
I had no idea mr blobby was still a thing, I remember seeing him a lot on tv when I was a kid but thought he's gone away ages ago.
So I've seen a Henry Hoover here in the USA, my high school art teacher had one and I think its the cutest thing
My favourite memory of Little Chef is those sherbet lollipop things! Remember? They came in orange and yellow! 🍭 👩🍳 👨🏽🍳 🧑🏿🍳
Cornish style pasties are a tourist attraction in the Michigan Upper Peninsula. They were almost as good as those found in Padstow.
Nothing can beat a Padstow Pastie .........from NSW

Comedy band The Horne Section (fronted by Alex, Greg Davis' sidekick on Taskmaster) made a character out of Henry Hoover
Just FYI, you can get a pasty in the US in northern Wisconsin and the upper peninsula of Michigan.
That's probably because Cornish miners emigrated to the area in the 19th century!
