My final thoughts on the choice I made at the end after giving it some time to sink in: I chose not to forgive Jed because deep down I felt he wasn't remorseful. 10 minutes before Alex walked in, he thought he got away with it again thinking he killed Alex. Once he saw her face, he denied it up until the point Alex used her powers to unmask him. IMO that's not someone who's remorseful, that's someone who was finally confronted by someone to not eat up his lies and show him for who he truly is. Forgiving him just because he cried when 10 minutes ago he had a smug look on his face thinking he got away with murder for a 3rd time didn't sit right with me.

The reason both Gabe and his father ended up in Haven is because Gabe was tracking him down. His father worked for Typhon, so Gabe went to Haven to find him but the leads ran dry (because John died in the accident, although Gabe didn't know that) so he decided he might as well stay in Haven.

I remember reading a comment saying "I wish there was a more dramatic ending". Honestly, I don't. The other games had very dramatic endings. This one focuses on a girl who lost so much and wants a place to belong. In the end, she has a chance to forge her path, make connections, and explore the world. These endings focuses on Alex not the world around her. This is her moment to finally live. And honestly, this is a breathe of fresh air.

I think a lot of people jump on the moral train in hypothetical situations and chose what they think would be the right thing to do because it's easy to do that in a game, but it this was to happen in reality I don't think so many people would be so forgiving. Loving the series and this is also my absolute favourite of all the LiS games.
imo he tried to kill Alex to cover up his crimes & acted like he had no clue what was going on..that doesn't come from someone who is remorseful, that comes from someone who knows his time is up..that's why I didn't forgive

I wouldn’t forgive Jed either, it might’ve been an accident but as their leader he bears the responsibility of his men and their lives so even if it had cost me my life I would’ve gone back and tried to help some of them and earn myself the hero title he wanted so much. And if he hadn’t kept the truth a secret but confessed then I would’ve forgiven him, but because he tried to hide it and even killed others to keep it under the rugs the entire time I’d condemn him as well
I love how the developers tied together Alex's backstory, how everything came full circle,and how all three of them were connected to Haven. And how Gabe helped her heal and grieve properly, was a beautiful final goodbye💕😢.
@@alexandersh86 John worked as a miner in Haven, ironically Gabe moved there. Alex later found out that her dad, John, was a miner there though the flashback of what really happened 12 years ago. Hope this helps

“11 is old?” An unfortunate thing in the foster care system is that many prospective foster/adoption parents want infants and children. The ‘easy’ kids who still are flexible and full of youthful joy and more easily molded into whatever the parents want. By the time the kids reach around 9-12 years old, the preteens and teens, they become ‘difficult’ due to suffering lots of trauma and having no stable adult figures in their life. They have desires and wants and are more set in what they know, so parents have to adjust themselves to the teen instead of the other way around. Foster teens often act out and develop bully-like personalities as a defense mechanism. It takes a lot more effort and love to parent older foster care children than young ones, so no one wants the older ones. Also, the foster care system has many kids going in and growing out of it without ever getting adopted. The constant house hopping traumatizes the foster kids and they often behave differently than those who grew up with stable family lives
I went into the foster system at the age of 12 and got out a few months before my 14th birthday, I understand how hard it is and how it takes a toll on your mental health.
I think your general statement is true. I think just in this specific case there is a bit of a mixup though in the timeline. When the parent said she was awfully old, Alex at that time was at least 17 based on the timeline that Gabe laid out ("By seventeen, you've seen it all"). When Gabe was talking about her being 11 years old, he's going back to when the family first split up when their father left and she couldn't keep them together. He's telling her that she was just a kid, and it was a burden too big for someone her age. That she needed to let it go, and not think she was a failure for not keeping them together. For not "doing her job".
I think this is the best life is strange game hands down. The way they tied it up, the whole episode in fact solidified how amazing this game really is. 10/10 easy.
Damn.....Gabe and Alex really teaching us that eventually we need to face our bad memories and trauma, that’s the only way we can truly heal and when we blamed ourselves for so long....that’s when we can forgive ourselves. There’s no rush into it but eventually our time will come or we’ll always have that part of us that always feels missing. It’s hard but it’s the truth and it truly does help.....at least to move on and not hold onto it forever.
The hand technique Jay was talking about is the Filipino technique for cooking rice, it makes sure the ratio between the water and rice wouldn't make a soggy nor uncooked rice. Can't believe Jay knows how to do that lol, mama taught a lot.

yeah, and lis 2 as well. i think the fact it's much slower paced made it feel even shorter. it's a really high quality game - personally, i think it was the best execution-wise, but i can't help but prefer the other two. i liked the mystery a lot, but it felt a little less 'life is strange'-y to me, and i got so much more attached to the characters/settings of the first two games. i think they were more emotionally impactful too.
I never wanted to cry this bad, I feel so bad for Alex. She’s been through so much and I get that this game isn’t real but kids go through cps and foster care systems that are genuinely fucked up. So part of this game is real and it’s sad because a lot of kids experience the same shit that Alex has been through.
The reason ryan didn't believe you was because you needed at least 3 out of the 4 councilmen to believe you. Because of your choices, you only had 2(char and pike).

Also, you can't even see if he apologized via text, because Jay didn't check his messages unfortunately. There were a lot of missed ones. I grew up on Tomb Raider, so I managed to explore all the possible places and got everyone on my side in the end, even Ryan. It's really easy when you play the game as intended.

I think the part where each character backs you up is dependent on the big choices that you make with them throughout the game. For example with Charlotte, you left her alone so she supported you. With Pike, you took his fear away, so he stood up for you and called Diane out. Idk what it would've been for Duckie but with Eleanor, I think she didn't support you because you didn't tell her that Gabe died. I also think you needed at least 3 of the other characters (besides Steph) to believe you for Ryan to be on your side.
Eleanor needs to know about Gabe's death and don't tell Riley about her dementia and for Duckie, you must dance with him. This way both side with you! Also you NEED Charlotte to side with you to make Ryan believe you.

I can't believe that two days in a row is an ending of two of my favorite series. Yesterday was Danganronpa 3 and now Life is Strange True Colors!! I'm so sad to see them end, but thank you Jay for playing them they brought so many hours of happiness to my life and I can't wait to see what comes next for you and the channel! You're THAT DUDE!
I really loved the colour choices in this game: like when Alex was asking for Jed's help, the red and blue represented them both - This is the attention to detail that makes me love these types of games.
Man, this episode hits so close to home for me. I never had a parent die, but my dad left me when I was young, and my mom got fired from her job when I was 7 because she is addicted to drugs, and because of that, money was always hard for us. Now a month ago, we just got kicked out of my house and, I'm living at my grandparents house, it gives me bad memories of my mom and I'm fighting with them
Jay did a well job with this game. I personally loved all his choices he made. I probably would've made the same choices, but I am still unsure about forgiving or not forgiving Jed. He obviously killed people, but at the same time you could see he regretted it, so that's a thinker
He only regeted it when he got caught. And alex said that he had to live with it but doesn't mean he regeted what he did. Because if he really did regret it would had turned him self in insted of keeping it under ties and killing people to hide it when they found out.
@@shariyfaharper6685 - i second this. he only "regretted" his actions because he was backed into a corner. for years he told stories and lies and pretended to be this big "town hero", but in the end he genuinely was just a coward. he tried so hard to keep the dirt off his name he even went as far as killing (/attempting to kill) people.

I thought his tears were a result of Alex's powers making him feel all those emotions again (his old emotions returned one by one, which was reflected in Alex's eyes).

Hey Jay, there's a lot of it's endings, and there was also a scene where Jed is mad and shouting at Ryan for trusting Alex..... Steph is moving out... By her own... And Alex was in Steph's store, dancing by her own... And yeah.... A lot. Anyway, you're amazing as always Jay.
Sometimes forgiveness isn't about the other person, but it's about taking weight off one's own shoulders. It isn't denying the actions of someone or the pain they have caused. Forgiving someone who has deeply hurt you isn't easy, but hate/anger towards someone is like holding something heavy. You can hold onto it, but over time it can pull you down. Holding onto anger/hate does nothing to the person that has wronged you, forgiveness is something to do for oneself.
This was more about confronting him and getting Justice. I understand the sense of morality and that "Forgiveness is healing" but it's more so that ultimately, he DESERVED it. That being said, it's not always advisable to let someone know they're forgiven. Especially someone as self-serving as Jed. At the end of the day, with options like those, people only hop on the moral train because it's easier in-game. (Strictly my opinion.)
I get that Ryan couldn't believe that his own father would do something like that, but he had no right to deny the fact that Alex almost died when she is literally covered in blood and limping.
Theres a way to get him to believe you if you choose the right options. Like how letting Charlotte grieve made her believe and taking Pike's fear made him take Alex's side
jay, to get everyone to believe you, you needed to dance with duckie at the bar before the spring festival; you needed to tell eleanor about gabe's wake and not tell riley about her alzheimer's; and to get ryan to believe you, you needed everyone else to believe you.
i don’t know i really liked Ryan’s character. in the beginning when he cut the rope i automatically put him as one of my favorites. it takes a lot of strength for someone to do what he did, knowing there was no way for him to save both of them, he did the best he could. i also felt bad because at the end of the day it was his dad we were accusing so it put him in a tough spot. i just feel like there was more depth to him than Steph, liked the video tho :)

I would choose to forgive Jed- not for him, but for myself. The more I hold onto that anger, the more unhappy I will be and it could be to the point where I lash out and do something like him or even worse. Forgiving him means I move on and continue with my life. But just because I forgive doesn’t mean I’ll forget it.
i really dont like how so many ppl conflate closure with forgiveness, you can find closure and move on without having to forgive someones intentional wrongs against you.

I think that choice leads more to cuttings ties but not forgiveness. I'd rather forgive Jed because I think he made an understandable choice and mistake during the mining incident.

I know the mom was sick, but I feel like she was wrong for making Alex promise to stay strong for the family. Like Gabe said, she was 11, her mom shouldn't expect her to be able to handle such a thing, especially after the fact that her father literally abandoned her and Gabe. "Your brother and father, they're going to need you." No, *she's* the one who needs *them.* If anything, it's should've been the father's job to stay strong for the kids.

I can't handle the scene with Alex's mom. It reminded me so much of my mom and I wish I could have said the things I wanted to back then. Like Alex, I never cried and I wonder if my mom thought the same as Alex's. I was 13 back then and almost had no idea of the severity of her condition. She knew I was strong enough to carry on and I hope that gave her peace. What Jay said is true, when there are situations or unfortunate events such as this, your heart would def skip a few beats :'(
I've loved this series. The characters are believable. The story line is amazing. It pulls you in and makes you a part of it. It makes you feel the happieness and joy. Then makes you feel the sadness and sorrow of the situations. I loved it.

I think a lot of people jump on the moral train in hypothetical situations and chose what they think would be the right thing to do because it's easy to do that in a game, but it this was to happen in reality I don't think so many people would be so forgiving. Loving the series and this is also my absolute favourite of all the LiS games.
imo he tried to kill Alex to cover up his crimes & acted like he had no clue what was going on..that doesn't come from someone who is remorseful, that comes from someone who knows his time is up..that's why I didn't forgive

And if he hadn’t kept the truth a secret but confessed then I would’ve forgiven him, but because he tried to hide it and even killed others to keep it under the rugs the entire time I’d condemn him as well

I love how the developers tied together Alex's backstory, how everything came full circle,and how all three of them were connected to Haven. And how Gabe helped her heal and grieve properly, was a beautiful final goodbye💕😢.

@@alexandersh86 John worked as a miner in Haven, ironically Gabe moved there. Alex later found out that her dad, John, was a miner there though the flashback of what really happened 12 years ago. Hope this helps

An unfortunate thing in the foster care system is that many prospective foster/adoption parents want infants and children. The ‘easy’ kids who still are flexible and full of youthful joy and more easily molded into whatever the parents want. By the time the kids reach around 9-12 years old, the preteens and teens, they become ‘difficult’ due to suffering lots of trauma and having no stable adult figures in their life. They have desires and wants and are more set in what they know, so parents have to adjust themselves to the teen instead of the other way around. Foster teens often act out and develop bully-like personalities as a defense mechanism. It takes a lot more effort and love to parent older foster care children than young ones, so no one wants the older ones.
Also, the foster care system has many kids going in and growing out of it without ever getting adopted. The constant house hopping traumatizes the foster kids and they often behave differently than those who grew up with stable family lives
I went into the foster system at the age of 12 and got out a few months before my 14th birthday, I understand how hard it is and how it takes a toll on your mental health.

I think your general statement is true. I think just in this specific case there is a bit of a mixup though in the timeline. When the parent said she was awfully old, Alex at that time was at least 17 based on the timeline that Gabe laid out ("By seventeen, you've seen it all"). When Gabe was talking about her being 11 years old, he's going back to when the family first split up when their father left and she couldn't keep them together. He's telling her that she was just a kid, and it was a burden too big for someone her age. That she needed to let it go, and not think she was a failure for not keeping them together. For not "doing her job".

Damn.....Gabe and Alex really teaching us that eventually we need to face our bad memories and trauma, that’s the only way we can truly heal and when we blamed ourselves for so long....that’s when we can forgive ourselves. There’s no rush into it but eventually our time will come or we’ll always have that part of us that always feels missing. It’s hard but it’s the truth and it truly does help.....at least to move on and not hold onto it forever.

yeah, and lis 2 as well. i think the fact it's much slower paced made it feel even shorter.
it's a really high quality game - personally, i think it was the best execution-wise, but i can't help but prefer the other two. i liked the mystery a lot, but it felt a little less 'life is strange'-y to me, and i got so much more attached to the characters/settings of the first two games. i think they were more emotionally impactful too.

I never wanted to cry this bad, I feel so bad for Alex. She’s been through so much and I get that this game isn’t real but kids go through cps and foster care systems that are genuinely fucked up. So part of this game is real and it’s sad because a lot of kids experience the same shit that Alex has been through.
The reason ryan didn't believe you was because you needed at least 3 out of the 4 councilmen to believe you. Because of your choices, you only had 2(char and pike).

I grew up on Tomb Raider, so I managed to explore all the possible places and got everyone on my side in the end, even Ryan. It's really easy when you play the game as intended.

I think the part where each character backs you up is dependent on the big choices that you make with them throughout the game. For example with Charlotte, you left her alone so she supported you. With Pike, you took his fear away, so he stood up for you and called Diane out. Idk what it would've been for Duckie but with Eleanor, I think she didn't support you because you didn't tell her that Gabe died. I also think you needed at least 3 of the other characters (besides Steph) to believe you for Ryan to be on your side.

Eleanor needs to know about Gabe's death and don't tell Riley about her dementia and for Duckie, you must dance with him. This way both side with you! Also you NEED Charlotte to side with you to make Ryan believe you.
In my play through I had all of the council on my side. It was hilarious to see Jed angry about it 😂

Now a month ago, we just got kicked out of my house and, I'm living at my grandparents house, it gives me bad memories of my mom and I'm fighting with them

Jay did a well job with this game. I personally loved all his choices he made. I probably would've made the same choices, but I am still unsure about forgiving or not forgiving Jed. He obviously killed people, but at the same time you could see he regretted it, so that's a thinker
He only regeted it when he got caught. And alex said that he had to live with it but doesn't mean he regeted what he did. Because if he really did regret it would had turned him self in insted of keeping it under ties and killing people to hide it when they found out.

I thought his tears were a result of Alex's powers making him feel all those emotions again (his old emotions returned one by one, which was reflected in Alex's eyes).

Sometimes forgiveness isn't about the other person, but it's about taking weight off one's own shoulders. It isn't denying the actions of someone or the pain they have caused. Forgiving someone who has deeply hurt you isn't easy, but hate/anger towards someone is like holding something heavy. You can hold onto it, but over time it can pull you down. Holding onto anger/hate does nothing to the person that has wronged you, forgiveness is something to do for oneself.
This was more about confronting him and getting Justice. I understand the sense of morality and that "Forgiveness is healing" but it's more so that ultimately, he DESERVED it. That being said, it's not always advisable to let someone know they're forgiven. Especially someone as self-serving as Jed. At the end of the day, with options like those, people only hop on the moral train because it's easier in-game. (Strictly my opinion.)

jay, to get everyone to believe you, you needed to dance with duckie at the bar before the spring festival; you needed to tell eleanor about gabe's wake and not tell riley about her alzheimer's; and to get ryan to believe you, you needed everyone else to believe you.
i don’t know i really liked Ryan’s character. in the beginning when he cut the rope i automatically put him as one of my favorites. it takes a lot of strength for someone to do what he did, knowing there was no way for him to save both of them, he did the best he could. i also felt bad because at the end of the day it was his dad we were accusing so it put him in a tough spot. i just feel like there was more depth to him than Steph, liked the video tho :)

I would choose to forgive Jed- not for him, but for myself. The more I hold onto that anger, the more unhappy I will be and it could be to the point where I lash out and do something like him or even worse. Forgiving him means I move on and continue with my life. But just because I forgive doesn’t mean I’ll forget it.
i really dont like how so many ppl conflate closure with forgiveness, you can find closure and move on without having to forgive someones intentional wrongs against you.

I think that choice leads more to cuttings ties but not forgiveness. I'd rather forgive Jed because I think he made an understandable choice and mistake during the mining incident.

I know the mom was sick, but I feel like she was wrong for making Alex promise to stay strong for the family. Like Gabe said, she was 11, her mom shouldn't expect her to be able to handle such a thing, especially after the fact that her father literally abandoned her and Gabe.

FINAL? It went by so fast, even though each episode Jay posted was hours long.. it's too much fun watching him play that it all didn't feel so long
I can't handle the scene with Alex's mom. It reminded me so much of my mom and I wish I could have said the things I wanted to back then. Like Alex, I never cried and I wonder if my mom thought the same as Alex's. I was 13 back then and almost had no idea of the severity of her condition. She knew I was strong enough to carry on and I hope that gave her peace. What Jay said is true, when there are situations or unfortunate events such as this, your heart would def skip a few beats :'(
I've loved this series. The characters are believable. The story line is amazing. It pulls you in and makes you a part of it. It makes you feel the happieness and joy. Then makes you feel the sadness and sorrow of the situations. I loved it.
Man people need to appreciate that Jay takes his time to edit,so he can't get it out immediately

just a quick thank you to jay for letting us almost play the game with him, i agreed with almost all his decisions and when there were sad scenes that made me tear up, he made little jokes that made it better. jay is the best, hands down. thank you jay
