It would be cool to do a what to look for series aimed at most common issues. I bought 4 saws just recently and 2 of them had broken or misconnected impulse lines both blamed the carbs. The one the impulse line some one connected where the fuel tank vent was intended. On the echo timber wolf i am pretty sure someone used compressed air to clean the carb and blew into the impulse hose blowing it off. Most people dont understand that carb is also a fuel pump! I will have to look up how to vacuum check a chansaw im sure i have everything but good to know for troubleshooting!

Been there, feel your pain. Hate when that happens.

Is the plug wet when it dies?

Id keep the jets at 1.5 turns and get it to idle, then start perfecting it. Your ring gap may be too big. Not 100% sure

Keep watching the Binford series. I eventually found it. I had a leak in the crankcase.

165 compression pounds of pressure is too much. 120 is perfect 130 should be the most anything under 100 is no good.
