    I have to correct the narrative. The field of view is expressed in degrees, not in millimeters.

    I believe for me, it would have to be the Nikon Zf with a Voightlander 40 f2 Ultron. I also like the 90 f2.8 Apo Skopar. I have been so impressed with Voightlander glass that I willingly forego auto focus that is so amazing on the Zf.

    Hi Tudor on the weekend I received a Voigtländer 40 1.2 for my Zf. I also have the Nikkor 40 f2 if I need AF. Boy what a setup. Love it!

    35mm is wide enogh In my opinion, 35mm in full-frame format is the optimal point for scenarios where you only have one lens. It’s wide enough for street photography, landscapes, and works well for environmental portraits too. Preferably with an f/1.4 aperture. If cropping is necessary, you can rely on the camera's resolution. Thus, going to the extremes, I find two options: either the 7Artisans 35mm f/1.4 III or the Leica Summilux 35mm f/1.4. Apropo, ai o engleaza de ma umfla rasul dar e super ok....poate ca asa si vrei sa fie. Oricum, daca dai la oparte acest aspect, canalul e fain. Faci bine ceea ce faci.

    Thanks for getting around to the Q3-28mm. Those became widely available after the Q3-43mm was announced so I jumped on one (selling off my Q2 and a bunch of film kit). The Q3 has a beautiful 28mm lens for EDC that crops nicely thru 50mm (18.9mp) though mine lives on the 35mm crop, 28mm is there when I need it. My optical band of brothers are the Q3, GRiiix, iPhone 16 Max Pro, Sony A7R3a w/Voigtlander lenses.

  • @zettepix2009
    @zettepix2009 13 วันที่ผ่านมา

    Thanks for this opinion Tudor. For me the 35 is also the preferred lens. The more I use it, the better I get for example at hip-shots or shooting and getting the right frame without even looking at the lcd or viewfinder. In street I usually focus manually and nothing betas the 28 for zone focusing but I still get over 85% in focus. For Leica I decided for the 35 Summilux asph v1 and I am very happy but I know it is a luxury that I could only afford this year. I have the Nokton 50 1.5 and I can second Voigtlander is nearly as good and much more affordable..

    Thank you for this great video. In my opinion there is no one single lens that can be used everyday, but rather there are two focal lengths, namely 28mm and 50mm. As for the 35mm, and this is my personal opinion, it is the most boring focal point. It is not wide enough and at the same time it is not the ideal lens for shallow depth of field.

    • @DominicTioseco
      @DominicTioseco 12 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Exactly! When I have to bring only two lenses, those are my two focal lengths.

    Um, that set-up will cost around $4000 USD if you don't want the added bulk of an adapter for another full-frame system.
    That's a lot more than many people want to spend.
    So there is that.

    Good choice on the CV 35mm f1.5. That was my most used lens on my M11 before I sold my M kit. I’m not that bothered about focal length and I’m very happy with my Q2.

    Did I hear you right: your preferred "one lens" for X mount is the Viltrox 27mm f/1.4? If so, I think you mean Viltrox 27mm f/1.2. And it's very large and heavy.

    • @Tudor_Mateescu

      @@Tudor_Mateescuah. That's what happens when I watch videos at double speed to save time! I did hear you mention a 23 mm f1.4 but I wrongly inferred that that was about the cheap 23/1.4 manual-focus lens by TTArtisan.

    The Leica M/Voightlander 35mm combo looks a superb compact EDC choice Tudor, I have to agree. But I’m a cheapskate & will stick with my 500 Euro s/h, Oly EM-5 & 17mm 1.8, until I win the lottery 😊

    My favorite feature of the leica Q2 is the crop lines for 35mm. How I wish I could set it to 40mm crop lines, but 35mm works. I use the Q2 as a 35mm FOV camera, with an exta "wide" mode when I need it. Note that the "sensor size" when shooting a Q2 in 35mm "crop" mode is still larger than aps-c. It's not the full frame, but it's not aps-c either. In between.

  • @nigellee7892
    @nigellee7892 12 วันที่ผ่านมา

    If you could only have ONE lens, for me it would probably be a 50mm as it’s probably the most versatile of all lenses. It was the ‘standard’ lens that cameras came supplied with back in the day. But hey, the point of cameras that allow the use of interchangeable lenses is that you can change them to suit different applications.

      It's not at the level of 1.5 but it could be a start. I looked a lot at it, but it didn't convinced me. I use two voigtlander lenses : 35mm color skopar f2.5 II and the f1.5. very pleased with both.

    Perhaps it’s time for you to try Nikon Z50ii + 24mm F1.7. There are 2 apsc Noktons on the Z mount as well. They should be compatible with Nikon’s manual focus confirmation.

    Thanks Tudor. I enjoyed the video. I also love voigtlander lenses owning the 40mm f1/4 and 50mm f1.5. I own the old summicron 35mm f2 v3 which is a great lens especially paired with my old Fujii xe2s. A great old lens which is unbelievable and mf and so tiny is the minolta rokkor f2 40mm. However, for my edc camera and lens that I take everywhere and on vacation definitely is either my Sony a7c or a7c2 with the Sony 40mm f2.5. Such a great lens sharp and extremely responsive. I use the lens at iso128000 if needed. If there is a little noise? Dxo pure raw 3 cleans it up perfectly. The Sony combination imho is very small and af extremely accurate and fast on the street and if you wish it does great in manual mode - Cheers

    Hey Tudor great analyse. What about Fuji x voightlanders for the Fuji mount. The 23mm 1.4 seems to match your need isn’t it ?

    • @Tudor_Mateescu
      @Tudor_Mateescu  12 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      In a way. The problems:
      - not a true infinity point
      - Fujifilm firmware messes the exif data of voigtlander lenses
      - Fujifilm doesn't offer consistent manual focusing options on the new cameras (red peaking doesn't disappear on X-T5, and X-t50 you can't exit the punch in zoom with lightly press of the shutter button, also you don't have all the options from X-T50)
      - it's reported to be soft at f1.2
      On Fujifilm the closest I could find is Viltrox 23mm f1.4: AF is ok, compact, good size. Fujifilm 23mm f1.4 WR could be better but the size it's something to take in consideration.

      Sure it's not the same, but no need to always carry around a 'big' filter then!
      At any rate, the built-in TC is a nice bonus feature to have with the X100VI and the 40mp sensor.
