In the early 80s my mom worked for a company called Alcan aluminum in the tower .I remember waiting in the car and looking up at the building and thinking it was gonna fall over on us.😂😂😂 years later I worked as a valet driver for the Tower and Galleria. It was a very buisy place all the stores were filled the food court was packed everyday. Years later I was delivering flowers to the tower and it was far past its glory days and the Galleria was empty it was kinda sad . I’m glad it’s going to get back into action
Unlike some Cleveland people who diss detroit in videos similar to this, I'm not gonna do the same. As a native Detroiter, good for your city for rejuvenating places like this.
I hope that it works out. There are a lot of positives for drawing people and retail to that location. My main concern are macroeconomics beyond the developers' or Cleveland's control.
I worked at a couple stores in The Galleria when I was in college. I left Cleveland for 20 years and when I came back in 2021, I wanted to cry when I saw that The Galleria was empty!
In 1973 I was hired by Ohio Bell and worked in 100 Erieview Plaza until the mid 80's when Ameritech (Ohio Bell post Divestiture) built its own headquarters at 45 Erieview. My brother worked for Eaton Corp who occupied the upper floors of 100 until they also built their own HQ at 12th and Superior. Before the Galleria was built the space was occupied by a plaza with fountains. It's nice to see these buildings being repurposed as they really do offer a great view of Lake Erie. Wishing all involved much success.

I remember having ceasar salad, steak dianne and bananas foster made tableside at Top of The Town while Jack Reynolds broadcast from the lounge.
I’d move there if it’s affordable enough and the galleria has useful stuff in it.
It will be about $2000 per month for a smaller size apartment and probably $300 more for a bigger apartment.
@my apartment now$1199/m for 675sqft
@@bret6104 I'll move in to a bigger apartment for $300/month!

Top of the town
What about the Rockefeller building??
I was thinking the same thing.
I just saw online today that there are plans to renovate it!
I knew the outcome before pressing play.
It’ll nosedive within five years of opening…bless Cleveland elects a real leader!
