    This was so helpful thank you so much girl 🙏 I just want to give my bunny the best life ever and the information online sometimes makes it so confusing and stressful but your videos are the best!

      I totally understand. I spent countless hours researching and getting confused by contradictory information. I make these videos as a way to summarise what I've learned in hopes it can save some other owners the headache 😅

    This makes me really glad I live in the US. I had no idea grass hays were so expensive over there. I have allergies so I get orchard grass hay, as it irritates them a lot less than Timothy. I order from a small business called Small Pet Select and it costs around $35 for a 10lbs box of high quality hay, which gets me through the month.

      ah yeah I've seen small pet select. Wish we had them here. Sounds like such a good deal and so convenient

    Really great video. I remember being a teenager at the fodder store with my mum, I had a print out of a rabbit care guide and I was asking the guy for all the hays on the list and it was just "nup, nup, nup" We ended up with oaten of course. :D Like you I would love to mix in some of the oxbow or burgess hays, it's just completely unaffordable. $17 for a bale of oaten vs $40 for a tiny bag of timothy.

      Thank you! Yeah I wish it was cheaper here

    Yep. Shocking process here in Oz. And I hate trying to work out the whole litres to kilos conversion for the hay too!

    Hey I find Petbarns oaten bale is such good quality. They’re delivered every few days so they’re so fresh and green.
    $30 for a bale which i reckon is great x

    yeah, timothy hay is super expensive here so I have to go with meadow. I was lucky last time to find a farmer near me who was selling a bale of Timothy and meadow for $10 and it lasted my boy a while.

    (US resident) I had been getting Standlee hay for a while, but it and many other commercial hays were getting so dusty this year. I had wondered if it was at all feasible to try to grow your own hay, but it does look pretty complicated.

    Are you not able to buy hay bails from a local stock hay/feed farm in Australia? Here in Canada we can buy 15 lb bails of fresh cut timothy hay for $25 CAD

    • @BunsBestLife
      @BunsBestLife  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I did mention stockfeed stores and showed some bales in this video. They're just not common everywhere, the only bunny safe option at most places is oaten and the quality is hit or miss. Our options are much more limited.

    I saw it's like $100 for 1kg and a bit if Timothy hay so I'm sticking with my cheap oaten hay ahhaah

    • @BunsBestLife
      @BunsBestLife  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      haha $100 should be for 4kg but yes, still very expensive

      I buy my oxbow hay online from either vetshop or discount pet meds

    Excuse me but, by “bunny parents” do you mean adult bunnies?

      bunny parents = bunny owners cause they're our babies 🐰🥰
