David DeCoteau on THE DEVIL'S RAIN (Trailer Commentary)

Talented British director Robert Fuest's promising career took a downturn with the overwhelmingly negative critical response to this low-budget but well-cast US horror film ("...as horrible as watching an egg fry"-- NY Times). The climax is an endless montage of gooey, drippy makeups that presages the similarly protracted liquid climax of Gremlins 2 fifteen years later.

I could bash this movie all day. At the same time, it has a tone that I can't really describe. There's enough plot for a three-hour movie crammed into this, but there are just some very eerie moments, and horror movies are all about the moments.

got this with my and it is good for the time period, just think what they could of done with today's special effects. The acting was really good and that carried the movie, the face effects was good.

This flick as well is one of my favorites.I really don't know why but maybe it's the good cast and all arounf kooky feel of the movie.As an "A" movie,it's a flop.But judged as a "B" movie,it's a hit! If you are into "B" flicks,then I recommend you see this little gem.

One of the most grotesque endings ever! I think I saw this when I was a child and for some reason to me, melting bodies became associated with Satanic cults.
