In the form of op-amps, yes. But the boards are actually kind of clean inside. khronscave.blogspot.com/2019/09/47-joyo-zombie-guitar-amplifier-teardown.html
I have the original Zombie and its such a good amp. Theres a weird mid range honk to it that I don't hear from yours, so either they changed something with the V2, or Im just using a bad speaker match to it....sounds GREAT though!
😮 what?! That sounds great 🤘and just the fact it has little stuff like the blue tooth is great, my bloody katana didn't even have that (had to buy seperate) and just the amount of gain going even at a low setting, I love it.
i bought this on a lark back when it came out. it is now the only amp i gig with (through a 2x12 with V30's), bc i am cheap and bc it sounds just like an MB. i have an eq and a gate in the loop and am pushing the amp with a tube screamer in the front. when i scoop the mids, i am getting an And Justice For All tone which i absolutely love.
I had the original Joyo zombie. It was a ton of fun on the cheap. It was funny that the cab I ran it through cost 5 times what the amp cost. For a beginner they are better than average for the price.
The dirt channel is impressive. Ive heard the amp before however I don't remember it sounding this badass. Of coarse that has a lot to do with your playing. Sweet little cheap beast. Thanks Leon
That's right. I have the California by Harley Benton in the FX loop. Sounds like the Mesa. even though it only has bass, mids and highs, but you can change the sound massively🎉
I liked the Marshall version better, but that's only because I'm a Marshall tone junkie. Same sort of quality sounds in this one. Joyo is obviously a company that cares about ensuring goodness.
@@dominikh9526 It's a Gothenburg style riff. :) Just needs the harmonized diatonic minor thirds. I'm not terribly familiar with Periphery, probably because At the Gates's first album was in 1990 and Periphery's first album was in 2010.
@@AAAA-lt9hqcheck them out, you won't regret it. It's okay, I'm an old dude too, and I rate them. Maybe start with "Scarlet" for a slightly Swedish riff vibe.
AHHHH some good o'l Gojira-Stranded what monster riff. Although the whammy up is a must, it's all good though that LP Custom sounds like a million Unc. She's a goodun don't give her up. What pups are in there? the 498T & 490R? those are my favorite pups.
These little gems are hard to beat for the price and form factor. Might have to bust out my Firebrand I still have kicking around and run some pedals into it.
Hey Leon I'd love you to demo the Orange Terror Stamp. Specifically taking the preamp out and using it with an Orange appropriate I.R. Thinking of picking one up but mixed reviews online, as always. Cheers, Willie
Was this mic'ed or with IRs? I had a dream last night about the Dual Rec Multi-Watt I had to sell a few months ago and honestly this seems like this could fill the void for a tiny fraction of the price.
I was skeptical at first, but Leon consistently getting great tones out of Joyo has convinced me they may not be a sketchy Amazon imported brand. Now Glarry, on the other hand...
You still can’t beat that authentic analogue valve tone. Fractals are amazing but you can immediately tell when it’s valve. I also think fractals hold your hand a bit with your playing, but with valve amps you’re on your own.
If Joyo made a 100w head with power attenuation and all the bantamp models as selectable options in one amp, they would have one of the most versatile amps on the market
I want to thank you for reviewing guitar gear and leaving politics to the political channels. I have had to unsub from several guitar related channels because they have turned into political news channels instead of reviewing actual gear that players care about. You have a great channel that is always entertaining and informative.. Thank you!
Of all the guitar channels I watch, and I watch lots!, I don't think I've ever seen any one of them talk about politics. In fact, most have claimed that they try very hard to have zero political views stated whilst creating their content. 🤷🏻♂️
This must have a hell of a lot of solid-state components in the preamp to get that out of a single 12AX7.

@6:46 that riff is great, sounds a lot like Forever Never sorta chording... be nice for a vid on learning those dissonant chords Leon.
Def buy for me. Thx for the video Leon :) greetz from Germany

It's definitively a nice practice/backup amp. I tried it at home once with my MB 2x12 and it was way too loud to use it effectively :)
That's better than the Marshall DSL 20 I just bought..no fizz tight! Great now I have to get it too.Great vid as always Man!

Omg. That thing rips!

EQ in the loop and you have a Mesa Mark V - even better \m/
That's right.

Honestly, I have both. I used to think that the Zombie was the absolute best, until I got the Mark. Thank God, à 3k amp blew à 180 bucks one away. 😁👍
I liked the Marshall version better, but that's only because I'm a Marshall tone junkie. Same sort of quality sounds in this one. Joyo is obviously a company that cares about ensuring goodness.
I have had 3 of their guitar amps and a bass amp for a few years. All really fun but the Zombie II is so good for that one sound.
10:55 to 11:12 Leon goes full blown Gothenburg. It's the kind of thing one loves to see.
Marigold by Periphery

Pretty rad little amp you can find used for about $120 U.S. 🤘
These Joyo Bantamps are ridiculous.
I have had it for a while. Killer with pedals. Buy it.
5:36 to 5:50 opened up that thick tube saturation! 😅😅😅😅❤😊🍾💯😁🔥🎸
That thing fuggin rips Unc hell yeah lol!!!!
This has way better clean tones than my evh stealth 50 by far. I was just playing Gojira about a hour ago. 😂

That's an unnecessary amount of gain! 🤣
Bring on the chugga chunk
Sounds killer 9:03 to 9:20 for sure rock maestro! 🎸👊💯🔥
lol. bunta low end. thats the best tone descriptor of the year by far.
Hahaha the Australian jargon is leaking out
bunta now added to my US English repertoire. i have been spreading "skux as" and "ranga" lately which i nicked from Jonah from Tonga.

This amp sure is a joyo
I don't get it
@jlynnb1 it's a joy o to play
Does that thing sound as good in the room as it does on the video? That is seriously cool and incredible bang for the buck!

Nice! Hope alls well.

A couple friends got them, I might be getting one myself lol.
Crank the gain
I got mine used as soon as I could

Daaaamn that sounds curly
Awesome amp
You're very talented guitarist
Cheers!
is this one better or is it the Jackman for 80s hair metal tones .??
This will do the late 90's/early 00's metal thing. jackman with a boost would be better for hair metal
Technology has advanced so much now to produce awesome tones with inexpensive gear. You used to have to have thousands of dollars worth of equipment 😅
Couldn't agree more!
Anyone selling a synergy syn1 or 2?

Leon, could you make tonex capture of it please?
Joyo should really consider making this amp an 100 or 200w solid state. These would sell like candy
Exactly my thoughts
If Joyo made a 100w head with power attenuation and all the bantamp models as selectable options in one amp, they would have one of the most versatile amps on the market
3 tube hybrid
Oh yeah.
