    Have like a "heavy slot" package for him, match him up against TE's occasionally and he might be something special

    Him being a willing tackler is the biggest thing that stood out to me.

      With the new kickoff rules, new kickoff returner and a new punter. Special teams is extra huge this year and Watts has the 'safety' body type which he could use to excel and make Danny White some big plays..

      I loved the pick and Watt's potential, Rush, Trice, JPJ. Building a secondary of the now and future.

    Trice 7th round watts 6th round . They sound like perfect betting on upside late round picks theres nothing wrong with that strategy. Now its up to the organization to get the most out of them

    I went to high school with Ryan, and known him since the 3rd grade! Homie is going to put in the work to get better!

    Steelers won 10 games without an Offensive Coordinator nor a QB. Steelers Fans we will win 12 Games at minimum on our way to the AFC Championship game with RW3 who threw 26 TD's and 8 ints in a bad situation in Denver. A much improved Defense that ranked 6 in scoring allowing16.9 ppg that went extended games without its starting safeties Minkah and Kazee, Cam and the entire ILB 3 Man Holcomb, Kwon and Roberts. The Defensive Speed has improved in the Secondary with the release of Wallace and Peterson and the infusion of Watts, JPJ, Rush, and Trice. The infusion of Queen and Payton Speedy ILB's. Offensive Line improvement. Arthurs Smith offense is taylor made of RW3 and JF2! The NFL is a League of attrition barring no Injuries the 2024 Steelers are primed to play in the AFC Championship Game.

    Love the Big Tall corners that can run, a Mel Blount type. I would develop Watts at corner without a doubt. Don’t give him this versatility training stuff to break his focus on corner development until he proves he is not going to be an above average corner. These type of corners are hard to find and if you find a copy of JPJ to play opposite, imagine what that defense becomes! Now you can focus on shutting down those tight ends and all those 10 yard crossing routes that seem to kill us. Maybe Payton Wilson solves that! Thank you for another fun and educational video!

      Potentially but he's gotta make the team and play well on STs first.

    Now since draft is being held in Pittsburgh I’m begging y’all (Steelers depot) to please host some kind of event draft week whether it’s Monday or Tuesday that week. We love y’all’s content and would love to somehow show the appreciation back to y’all. I know draft days y’all will be working so that’s why I’m saying do it early in the week

    If one of those three is competent enough to get some snaps in across from JPJ and have Donte play some slot as well, we could be cooking with a man heavy scheme.

    Don't know a lot about him but I feel like you show him some confidence and push for cornerback....feel like you want him on your team so if it starts to not look too promising then you go to safety

    Good breakdown, Alex. Can’t wait for the video of his bad plays, though. Seeing the pros AND cons of these players is important to us junkies.

    What bewilderes me is every one is programmed to speed fastest is better than fast and faster. Fastest with poor technique is useless 😕 Fast or faster 😕 with a lot of technique and style is sufficient and even better and beneficial. ❤

    It doesn't matter what round Cb he is you would still find flaws in his game! I simply hope he gets a chance !
    I'm sure Mel Blount in his prime couldn't sink his hips on every play either!

    I think Ryan Watts could have a long very successful career as a safety! I could see him starting next to Minkah in a couple of years. Hopefully he is a special team's standout as well.

    Hoping that all drafting of injury prone guys doesn't cause a repeat of '23. Being realistic though, the Steelers will start more than 1 non-roster guy, down the stretch, for multiple games.

    • @Alex_Kozora
      @Alex_Kozora  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I would argue only one draft pick this year meets the true definition of "injury prone" in Wilson, who was healthy his final two years.

    This is a case where I think you are totally overdoing the idea that Steelers are looking for a "type". JPJ was a value pick and a Steeler legacy. There wasn't like a choice of a smaller guy that was equivalent. Trice was a 7th round pick. You are just looking for guys that can play. It's not like they overdrafted him. Same with Rush....same with Watts. Now it MIGHT be that they are looking for specific types, but I think it is far from conclusive.

    • @Alex_Kozora
      @Alex_Kozora  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Eh, I think there's a pretty clear trend. You don't just happen to draft/acquire some of the biggest/longest corners in the last two years. I don't think it's the only thing they want, Donte Jackson doesn't fit the mold, but it seems to be their preference.
