Can someone explain to me why in every session there is already one round 2 match played? Why not just finish all the games of round 1 before round 2 starts?
Who would watch if it was just round 1
Because people want to see at least 1 big name play in every session.
They need people in the crowd, willing to pay huge money for alcohol to make the tournament profitable for the Alexandra Palace and the PDC.
Just for the show
Travel benefit for that player who wins & faces the seeded player. Who wants to come back to town a week later to face a top player and get knocked out anyways. You would see more forfeits if they didn't play 2nd round during that session.

At 12:28 : I think it was a mistake to play double 3 with 3 darts... double 2 was safer and if you missed it at your second try you could always switched to double 1... pretty weird choice.
So u mean he should have gone 2 D2 rather than straight for D3?
@@yusufluhar5881 In my opinion. If you have 2 Darts left, go 2 D2. You'd have to play it perfectly anyway - D3 or miss the checkout as well. 2 D2 has to be hit perfectly as well - also 1 double (let's say we don't miss the single two 😅). But if there's any need for backup, 2 D2 makes it easier on D1 instantly on the next visit
@@Introgamer14 i used to go for 2 D2 beford but missing the 2 entirely used to piss me off so i went straight for D3 and its been ok for me. I actually dont mind D3 anymore but before i hated it.
