Another great comparison. I love that Waterman ink is reliable. I currently have my Carène inked with Tender Purple. I have a sample of Gummiberry and can't wait to try it. You are going to be the reason I try Diamine Majestic Purple and Bilberry. Love the sheen!
Thanks for your ink comparison vidéos, they are always very useful! I love purple inks, one of my favorite is Diamine Amazing Amethyst, and another one on (totally different) is Iroshizuku Murasaki-shikibu. Another very good surprise is Robert Oster Muddy Crown, slowly rising to the top for me. The "blurple" bilberry you are showing here seems very interesting, I'm going to try it 👍
Thank you for the new video. Beautiful colours and they sound yummy, too!! How nice!!! Last week I bought Diamine Deep Magenta, expecting it to be deep pink... It turned out it's more like purple on my journal. But it's fine, still Diamine and I like it! (btw Blurple is an interesting word lol)
That's a nice list of favorites. Purple has always been a hard color for me to find one I like. I tend to stick to deep pure purples. I don't like light/dusty purples, and I don't like purple/pinks or purple/blues. My favorite so far is Diamine Monboddos Hat. I have heard many good things about KWZ Gummiberry, maybe I'll have to pick up a sample of that.
Love your Venustas, it looks so special, especially the writing sample ! I have Gummiberry, also one of my favorite purple ink. On the Diamine side, I do prefer Imperial Purple, but I may try Majestic Purple as well.
Interesting, some of these look quite good. I don't like bright purples, but one of my go-to inks is Rohrer & Klingler Scabiosa, which is just understated enough to not shout at me as some of these do :)
Noodler's Socrates is my purple: forge resistant, water resistant, bullet proof (why do I need that?) and archival. If that were not enough, it shades well. I bought a bottle of Wearinguel The Great Gatsby expecting a blue ink but it turned out more purple. More so than #1 and #3 in this video 🙂
Hi, thank you for this comparison. I'm still looking for the "perfect" purple, and I definitely have to give a try to KWZ Gummiberry! Of those six, I only own Waterman Tender Purple, as I thought it would be a great ink for me. But no. At least the bottle I own is filled with a deep and very dark ink, almost like Diamine Grape, even a bit darker, quite disapointing. Maybe -it seems- it's just a "bad" one, but I would have prefered the color on your swatch test ;) I had a sample of Bilberry, it's an interesting ink, but I prefer Monboddo's hat over Bilberry.
I just got some Tender Purple and it's waaay move violet than your swatch. I think I'll have to contact the retailer. In the mean time, gummiberry looks like a winner
I love purple, but there aren't a lot of purple inks I like. I prefer true purples and blurples, but I find a lot of purples are really red-purples, violets, or magentas. Which I am not a fan of. A lot of purple fountain pen inks lean too red for my taste.
Yes, I'm a Bilberry fan. It was the first bottle I ever bought ten or so years ago and I'm using it today.
Thanks Dave, Love to see all the different inks!
I guess I need to get a sample of the Majestic People and Gummiberry. I'm in the camp that loves the KWZ vanilla aroma.

Thanks for the review, just ordered a 60ml of the KWZ Gummiberry
Also Vanilla Custard is one of my most favorite things on earth.

Yay purples 💜💜💜 I love Bilberry.. Diamine inks behave well.

my favorite is the Diamine Grape, it is a more muted and realistic color

Hey! I think the 1st and the 3rd can easily pass as blue -ish inks... or is just me... ?

Do you see any metallic green around the bottle opening or pen feed when using the waterman ink? Thanks for the videos!
There is a little sheen but not a lot.

With respect, you need to treat the second "v" in Venvustas as a "u". This is typical classical Roman pronunciation.
That is correct. However, it is spelled without that extra "u", since the "v" is the "u": Venvstas (Ven-ooh-stas) 😉
