    The procedure you performed is called checker boarding and is a great way to encourage the girls to build comb. How Pavel sees those eggs on white foundation is a amazing. Feeding 1:1 sugar syrup also helps to encourage comb production. I enjoy watching your dad pass on his vast knowledge to you and other future and existing beekeepers, keep those videos rolling.

    That queen is huge!!! Gotta say I have watched and still watch many hundreds of videos over the last few years to learn beekeeping. Both before I got my first bees and since From newbies to pros, commercial, scientific and ideological. All those videos have given me a very firm understanding and knowledge of fact. There are few beekeepers doing video that I can 't immediately point out mistakes or falsehoods. Your dad KNOWS his his trade!!!! Every video I have watched his knowledge is detailed and rock solid! Most older beekeepers have a ton of ideology almost to the point of superstition. I have not seen that from your dad. He presents fact backed with fact. I haven't learned anything I didn't already know but I just wanted to point out how good I believe he is.

    I have new hives and the bees had drawn out 7 frames but did not seem interested in working on the remaining 3 frame on one side of the hive. So I took those three frames and put them in between brood frames and to my surprise they have drawn those frames out in a week. So this was very useful and a really good thing to know. I was scratching my head on how to get the bees todraw out those frames. Thank you.

    • @AnnaKra
      @AnnaKra  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes we do! When we expand our hives with the second deep super, we use it then, so that the queen does not go to the top. We use the second deep super for the honey. The queen excluder is so that the queen can’t lay eggs in the honey deep super. It’s pretty important to use if you want to extract honey with out the eggs. I hope this helps. We make sure they have enough honey or feed. Also, if your looking inside the hive when it’s too cold outside they may be more aggressive, or if they lost their queen they could also be more aggressive then usual. And obviously we smoke them a little bit before we look inside. If non of those reasons apply, and they are still aggressive we change the queen. That usually does the trick! Hope this helps! @@AnnaKra thank you Anna...my Russian is worse than rusty...it's non existent! I watch every video you and dad put up. I am 61 and have a young daughter 17, but she's not interested in the bees. My 39 year old daughter is enthusiastic but hasn't touched them. My sons, think I'm crazy. Ha! I think Pavel and I would have a good time in the bee yard...he's a very smart man and you are following in his footsteps.....good daughter. God blesses us with each other and we are to honor our parents, that our days may be long upon the Earth. I think you will enjoy a very long life!
