I was fortunate to be working for Disney's Aida when it was in previews in Chicago before it went to Broadway. The cast was amazing. This is one of my favorite songs from the show.
If Disney ever made this into a movie, it would be awesome. They originally did plan to make it into an animated movie, but it was scrapped for reasons unknown. Nevertheless, if it did became a movie, you can bet that this track will play during the opening credits.
Videogameboy1989 they made it into a musical because it was going to be a Disney animated film to follow the success of lion king but as the were writing it, they realised the themes and story was more mature and would look better and have a better impact on stage. but a movie adaptation would be amazing !!
Videogameboy1989 and Queen Beyoncé herself was a prospective Aida and Christina Aguilera would be Amneris. It really would have been amazing, however, sadly, Disney would have probably changed the ending to not be quite as depressing (though I think it's perfect with them remeeting so ironically so far into the future, way too cute!) but I also think now would be a fantastic time to make it into a movie with it being a perfect black lives matter message, if done properly.
It would be a great movie....maybe it is written in the stars to be. With one change Christina yes as Amneris and the original cast...That would be heaven.
I was just in Aida. Closing night was last Sunday.. :( I get such post show depression from this song because it was the first thing we did at one of the first rehearsals RIP Aida 2013
I've been looking for a new musical obsession; going through soundtrack after soundtrack of boring shit. But THIS, THIS has me excited!! I'm loving this, hope every song is as bangin as this.
I miss this musical so much when my community theatre kids for kids did this. The contact didn't specify age so we had some people who were older than 18. Our youngest was 7 and our oldest was 26 who had to do a special act the part of Aida's friend when the actress had a conflict that night that we knew ahead of time. I was 21 at the time and now thinking back on it I love it so much and wish I could do it again. Our director uploaded a special video tribute to our cast on TH-cam recently call Aida at CSTOCK. I play the teacher leading kids on a field trip during the museum scene and I play in ensemble cast. I did a badass job during "Dance of the Robe" when vocalizing Aida's name during that instrumental break.
ok i have to say AIDIA touched my heart when i saw it... it was just amazing it was not the ending i tought it was going to be, anyway just the part when there in the tomb together, well all i can say is AMAZING..... it touched my SOUL thumbs up if you agree!!!
i was in the pit orchestra in high school it was badass had great rhythms and powerful music... and sucky part is the only people that could keep up and follow the director was the drummer, bassist, me (keyboard part) and a cello. everyone else was off lol
@@bean3041 no my high school did it with all of its amazing jokes. Everyone literally gasped when they said "you know what happens now" And they proceeded to take off his belt. But it was my high school that did it a mix with the drama and choir kids
I did not even know it was on Broadway. I saw the opera in Verona and later in America. I saw the soundtrack in a discount store. Use to listen to it over and over. Thought of it today and looked it up.
my highschool did this musical this year, it is now considered either the best performance, or a close second (behind beauty and the beast) i was involved in the Aida production, but Beauty and the Beast was performed like 5 years ago. Definitely a privelige to be involved, the music is great, and i will always remember this play.

I do not believe there is one. Not many musicals have a complete symphonic recording. The only ones I know off hand are Les Miserables and Miss Saigon.
If you're still looking for a full version of Aida, there's one in here, youtube, with Idina Menzel. But it's in parts and it's kinda in bad quality because the person recorded w/ a video camera long time ago. There are no full broadway version of Aida with the original cast. If you're interested you can check it out.
the memories of being in this play, such a beautiful musical, so tragic but it was so much fun to be in. we were short on actors so a bunch of us had to be Ramases and Zochers (yup I spelt that wrong didn't I -_-) soldiers, and slaves, and Amnerises personal slaves . so many darn costume changes, but this is definitely one of the best musicals the music is just so amazing ;w;
This Story needs a lot more money from Disney whom invested in the Broadway production to be made in to a feature film. I am afraid it might be dated already though.
A love triangle. A Nubian princess named AIDA is captured from a riverbank with other Nubian women and is given to Radars as his personal slave and he falls in love with her. She falls in love with him too. While Princess Amneris of Egypt is his fiance and is noticing the love between the two. Aida and Radames get sentenced to death together. Thats how it ends.
There is nothing I love more in this world than Adam Pascal's voice

Erica Waltz is it still on broadway bc if it isn’t I might cry
God bless you for putting these together so the video doesn't load over the riff
I highly agree, it would totally throw it off if it had to load and have an add play in the middle of it
i was in the pit orchestra in high school it was badass had great rhythms and powerful music... and sucky part is the only people that could keep up and follow the director was the drummer, bassist, me (keyboard part) and a cello. everyone else was off lol
I might get to see this in a few days, and I'm so excited
I just saw this with our local theatre.... Such an amazing group of folks...
So happy our play is doing this musical...even though I'm a slave in it!

I listened to the first two words and am now obsessed with this play lol

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Fortune Favors The BRAVEEEEEEEEEEEE
Every story, tale or memoir
Every saga or romance
Whether true or fabricated
Whether planned or happenstance
Whether sweeping through the ages
Casting centuries aside
Or a hurried brief recital
Just a thirty-minute ride
Whether bright or melancholy
Rough and ready, finely spun
Whether with a thousand players
Or a lonely cast of one
Every story, new or ancient
Bagatelle or work of art
All are tales of human failing
All are tales of love at heart
This is the story
Of a love that flourished
In a time of hate
Of lovers no tyranny could separate
Love set into motion on the Nile's shore
Destiny ignited by an act of war
Egypt saw the mighty river as its very heart and soul
Source of life for all her people
That only Egypt could control
Destruction of her southern neighbor justified
Nubia exploited, left with little more than pride
I saw it 4 times
Sara Rappl LUCKY
Would recommend listening to the whole thing.
Can’t wait to be the drummer for my schools production of this
How’d it go my guy?

Go to rugby theatre to come and see it between 1-5 August
