He discovered some "bottled joy" and i couldn't agree more. Hope he got the chance to actually play it. The soundscape matching the game environment only makes it better.
If you think the soundtrack is amazing on itself, you HAVE to really listen to it while playing the game. The point of Katamari is to make you reflect on life. The songs depict fun times, love times, sad times, energetic times, nostalgic times (my favorite one is Cherry Tree times and if you understand the lyrics it's actually a tearful song reminding you the time when you were children and just playing and enjoying stuff, falling in love for the fisr time, but you cant now that you are an adult) and the most important thing, as you collect things in the game, at first glance they look just silly every day objects but combined with the message and rhythm of the music, they become nostalgic as you play you find things that were important to you at some point in your life (the dog you had, your school books, some toys) and then you grow up and absord bigger things because you have matured (you pick up people, cars, trees, bicycles) and as you evolve into absurdity you see how little things in life get lost in the grand scale of things (at one point you can pick up countriesm continents, planets and finally stars) and just makes you feel so small but appreciative of the beautiful small things in life. at least that's how I see it. Playing katamari brought tons of beautiful and sad memories because indeed the objects in the game (there are so many) must trigger some emotional memory in your mind eventually. making my gf play it gave her a different reaction to things, she picked up a cat in the katamari and remember her lost cat from childhood and teared up a bit, she destroyed a store because it reminded her the first job she had but that kinda sucked for her, etc. I think that the Prince picking up stuff is your way of remembering your life events and having fun in your memories and the King of the Cosmos hurrying you up is reality chasing you and telling you to WORK WORK, HURRY, THIS IS A JOB TO DO DONT HAVE FUN!! YOUR KATAMARI IS SMALL?! SHAME ON YOU!
You’re Loney Rolling Star is just one of those songs where you instantly feel happier for having listened to it. What’s crazy is it’s actually a bittersweet song about someone’s lover seemingly always “rolling away” from them. But they wait knowing one day their lover will roll back to them.
For the first time, I've never seen anyone listen to the songs in this game so seriously. I'm Japanese and I love this game so I'm very happy.Arigatougozaimasu.
If you haven’t already, check out “Rose and Gin tonic” also from Katamari Damacy. I think you’ll like it, it’s a scat song. When’s the last time you heated scat in a video game, especially Japanese scat!
Who is the lunatic who disliked this video? EDIT: As someone who really enjoyed the game, and finds a lot of nostalgia in this soundtrack, I am glad you enjoyed it. I think the best way for me to describe the soundtrack is catchy and sweet.
Katamari Damacy is one of my favorite game. And its BGM is very cool right? This game has several versions, like "We love katamari", "Beautiful Katamari Damacy", and those have new BGM and the arrange of songs you heard in this video. I hope you could enjoy all of other katamari damacy BGMs, generally called in japan "SUTEKI SONG"(SUTEKI means beautiful, cool, pretty, and so on.)
My man stopped The Moon and the prince before it got really good, damn.^^ Great Video, i love musicians going into game music. There is so much different things there to find, that radio cannot give you.
It's strange how concerned he was about listening to the songs all the way through and cutting stuff out... Should've just gone through the songs all the way
Katamaritaino (Roll Me In) is probably what I consider the best song of all time a song so complex and full of different emotions, who would have thought that such a goofy game could have such a powerful track. this game is charming and full of bangers.
@@pijama_smak8978 I couldn't agree more. Regardless. . . I love this game and kinda forgot about how iconic its music was. It's really hitting different for me since the world went crazy the last couple years.
The _Katamari Forever_ soundtrack features a lot of great remixes of many songs from this one! Very much worth checking out if you liked what you heard here!
The one song that always gets stuck in my head, naaaaannaaanaaanaaanaaaaaa katamari damachiiiiiiii, cute funny game but super hard for me to control lol
It was very interesting to see your first impression on the music, as alot of people I know are already aware and have an existing opinion on it. So seeing yours was very entertaining! have you checked out more of the music after recording because if so I'd be very interested to hear how you felt!
Never played the games but I've always enjoyed what I've seen from them, particularly the soundtrack! I know you don't do these often but I think it would be cool if you checked out some songs from the pokemon mystery dungeon games, specifically from red/blue rescue team and explorers of sky. Hope you have a good one and take care!
Dude, why are you moving your hand constantly? "Hey everybody" doesn't need an expressive hand gesture. You aren't communicating anything through your constant arbitrary hand-flapping.
POV: you are watching a man become a katamari fan
LOL!
This is how it starts every damn time. This song is infectious

@manny It's good!!
Hi! I just wanted to let you know Katamari Damacy is my favorite game of all time. T
No one can make games like Japan. Thank you 🙇♂️🙇♂️🙇♂️
Namco makes games, with amazing soundtracks.
I just rediscovered the album. I have listened since I was 15, I’m 34. This album is 🔥 and me and the kids jam out in the car to it
I'm so happy to own this soundtrack on Vinyl. I listen to it at least once a week. Just can't get enough of it!
Oh very nice!
If you haven’t already, check out “Rose and Gin tonic” also from Katamari Damacy. I think you’ll like it, it’s a scat song. When’s the last time you heated scat in a video game, especially Japanese scat!
Will check it out, thanks!

I really like that song about the alcoholic trying to quit for some reason, it’s sooo catchy. Bluffing Damacy
I do t know whats with katamari music but it gets me good for the amount of work they put in

There really is no franchise with music quite like Katamari. It's a wild, very silly, beast.
and weird...
This game is super quirky and I love it.
Literally my favorite game and music
This is the first video I've seen on your channel, but The music from the second game is also worth a listen.
Ah, wish you got to cherry tree times. My favorite song
Yay Katamari! You Are Smart is a banger.
So is the song you are talking about at around 16:00. I forgot the name. (Lol.)
the soundtrack in the second game is even better!

Oh good idea, I'd love to hit some of those.
The look on your face with the first song. You were like wtf. XD
Were you watching the intro video with the Katamari on the Rock, because this would help greatly to understand the context.
Hope to see you react to Seiken Densetsu 3 OST one day, for me it's the highlight of SNES soundtracks.
I hope one day you will be able to review « The Mummy Demastered » ‘s OST. Love your videos!
id love to see your reaction to norwood suite's ost
Review the sly 2 band of thieves sound track
great video!
Not this.

your words are also pointless
