We are all searching for those simpler times and treasured memories of our past, growing up with The Waltons and our families. In the late 70s/early 80s, we had our own economic woes with 18% interest, high gas prices and lines, war, etc. I don’t remember being so depressed oe discouraged, as I have been the last 4 years with all that happened and going on. Somehow we knew it would get better, and it did. I wish I could be so optimistic again. It sure was nice to see this place, and go back in time for a bit. I’ll try to make it there one day. They sure did a good job building that home! Loved the singing and can only imagine e conversations. Thanks for sharing .
To me these discouraging current times can only be manageable with strong faith in knowing God is still in charge and has everything under His control. That gives me peace, total peace.
I think my favorite is Olivia because she had the toughness and work ethic needed to raise the family, but had a softness too. And she was devout in her Christianity.
Whenever I see something like this, where people loved a TV show so much, I wonder if they would believe how much we enjoyed the show all these years later and pay tribute as we do. Just like the Mayberry town. Or Lucy fest in Jamestown. I bet they never thought when they made the Beverly hillbillies that all these years later people would watch and still laugh.
Totally agree with these comments. Today's shows are trash mostly and I watch the reruns of all the good shows every chance I get. No matter how many times I see them. I'd love to stay in this place. So wonderful and cool.
When we'd visit family there was always a bunch scattered through whose home we were ,we always did the rendition of goodnight. Heartwarming memories. 😊thank you enjoyed this.

The show was so good & family like with love from the grandparents, & the parents as well as others from the city of Walton’s mountain! The show was amazing & kept you interested the whole time it ran. I’ve been watching since I was an older teen, of course reruns. All the characters did a wonderful job! Thanks for the lovely video. The soapstone factory you passed on the way in is why the Waltons got electricity installed in the house. The Dew Drop Inn is now the Bejing Chinese restaurant is located nearby in Scottsville.
My neighbor moved from there to next door she told me all about the place she knew the people that lived there it was only a few miles from where she lived.
When did they build the Bed and Breakfast? I was there years ago, before it was built. I really enjoyed going through the school house museum. Beautiful area.

The rooms are different prices. Search for John and Olivia's Bed and Breakfast website. That's how we found it.
I use to call on the original Godsey's store that sadly burned down years ago
