My grandfather said he used to have a swamp cooler that he attacked to his car window, by rolling up his window (with a handle). It was small and He put ice in it.

a big key about swap coolers is the less humid area you use it in. The cooler it will be.
But yes swamp coolers work great.
One this size turned 600 square feet. At over 100 degrees to 65 in Tuscan.
I've used them before as a kid and never paid attention. But I was a 70s kid. Over half our time was outside in 100 plus.
I've heard they are not as effective in humid area. But plenty of old movies had them in like Louisiana. Which as far as I'm concern. Is the most humid state. You don't drive on land there. You drive on bridges connecting islands. And you can fill a glass with water by just moving it in the air. Them people that live there must have gills. With as thick as the air is.
I think Florida is the same.
But I'm sure they feel the southwest is too dry and you need a shove to remove the dust in the air.

Yes, swamp coolers are amazing!!! People won't stop thanking me every time I service one of them and save them from heat exhaustion!

wait how do you get it to even output 65 degrees it is almost 100 today in socal with like 20 percent humidity or less but ours only blows like 70-75 degree air good for maintaining the temp but thats not cold enought for me ours is nasty we need a good cleaning and new pads

That's the best they can do, 70-75 degrees. It's not like AC. But they are quite comfortable. Maybe yours is not big enough for the area that you have

Yes, if you give it a maintenance: replace its belt, new pads, lubricate is bearings, etc. It should work better

@@logansmokes.2762 yes clean is a factor. I don't know why.
The lower humidity the colder they can get.
70 not cold enough. Well there is always Antarctica. I don't think it gets above freezing there for a very long time. But it's also the dries place.
I know it's seems odd. A place with almost 2 miles thick of ice. Only get ,0.1 inch presipitation per year. But if you want cold. It's the best place.
