- The M4 Sherman is an oft-maligned medium tank, at least when speaking from a historical perspective. In War Thunder, however, it absolutely dominates the lower battle ratings. This is especially true for the cast-hulled M4A1.

This and the 3.3 T-34 give me the heebie jeebies, man. I feel like they're both under appreciated but the Sherman is especially monstrous.
Both are absolutely amazing, I’ve played both but I prefer the m4 Sherman because of its stabilizer, more pen, and from my experience more armour
they're both undertiered is what they are
I’m a panzer 4 G enthusiast the armor is ok but that gun is the best at 3.3
I find the Panzer IV H even scarier, it just has to click a tank to annihilate it and that add-on track armour likes to do some weird things sometimes.

0:14 - Only the M4A1 with the 75mm gets -12° of gun depression because of the minimalist gun mantlet. Basically every other Sherman in the game has -10° or less.
IIRC it's the Pullman mantlet.
Another thing is that the engine on the M4A1 is miserable in terms of acceleration.

I was pleasantly surprised by this tank when I first got it even though at first I thought it was just another boring m4. Got my first 11 kill game in this beast, on the Stalingrad map, by camping on the B point where it dips down into the hole. But because of the fantastic gun depression, I could peek up over the edge and snipe people as they approached. After a few kills I had to fully climb out of the hole, to engage further and bounced shots I didn't think would, all while trying to find somewhere to penetrate the armour of my attacker, before taking them out. Ended up surviving till the end of the match with one spawn. My adrenalin levels were through the roof. One of the best experiences playing low tier as a new player I ever had.
Can't even blame the stuka at 4:22, you got 17 kills you gotta expect the sacrifice.

Can i ask why? is it that bad, or actually pretty good? I used to play on ps4 with controller but since i switched to pc M/K i dont really mis it at all.Having said that there are still lots of games i play with a controller. But in shooters you are usually disadvantaged using a controller at least when it comes to precision and time to aim so i tend to use M/K

you should try out the 15cm big sig if you haven't done so yet, it's actually such a fun tank. it has the brummbar's HE shell (same pen as the m109), an 11 second reload (which is insane i swear it used to be something like 40 seconds), and the comedic bonus of low-velocity HE shells
i genuinely think you could take it up to 6.0 and still do well, maybe even get a nuke, but if you want to instead have a blast vaporizing lower tier tanks, for some ungodly reason it sits at a br rating of 1.0

If you shot the sides of any tank with HESH it one shots.
The only real downside of it is the muzzle velocity.

I honestly remember like it was yesterday when the US was first added. The Lee and the first M4 was honestly beyond op. Getting 10-13 kills PER LIFE in it was completely normal

Hey Spooks. That marking was for the tank ”War Daddy II” of the 1st armoured division, G comp. That is how they looked during in the North African campaign. Not sure if it was during Operation Torch, but it should have been some time during the M4 Sherman’s baptism of fire. You can tell that it is a very early Sherman due to the VVSS suspension without the skid plate and the return roller in the middle, similar to the M3 Grant/Lee

Attempt 60 Challenge: For high tier support a nations MBT with its respective APC/IFV counterpart (ie Abrams/Bradley, T90/BMP2M, etc.) Challenge is keeping the other player alive and supporting it without stealing kills (breaking barrels, tracking, repairing, etc) it being a random should help make it interesting.

@@blitzkrieg8776 Heat buff is cool, but it's general FEEL of it what matters.
You are fast and it feels like it. Armor is not enough for most stuff, but somewhat reliable against autocannons. Similar feeling go to CA Lorraine, but CA Lorraine doesn't have the power of extremely responsive cannon with angles wide enough to be a horrible casemate LEARNING material.
And that reverse in combination of smoke launchers is just chef's kiss.

I got so confused by the Slavic scream sounds, I was playing stalker, roaming the outskirts of Pripyat while watching the video and suddenly I hear Slavic stalker sounds. Got me spooked, confused and almost pissed my pants, good one spook.
Sherman II in Britain tree is the same exact and i love using it. One of my favorite tanks in the game its a beast at 3.7 surprisingly tanky even with the weak spots

My experience with the archer is that it's very awkward to use but can absolutely wreck the enemy's day when employed the way an SPG is meant to be employed. You should do an Archer video Spookston, if you haven't yet.

3.0-4.0 of US is my comfort BR. The Sherman’s are so great at those ranges and so fun to play.
when i was grinding the us tech tree is HATED the shermans, because i did terribly in them
now that i'm at top tier with the us and have played other tech trees, i realized i was just playing them wrong. they're now my comfort tanks as well
@@alleredetagetafmig this is exactly how I am lol. I chose US as my first nation and would get wiped, thinking the shermans sucked, but after a year or two of playing i just recently went back to them a month ago or so, and they are absolutely amazing tanks to use.
So that tank is actually iconic! Specifically the paint job. That is the War Daddy 2, a tank led by Lafayette G Pool. He was a Texan giant who spearheaded a ton of armored missions in Tunisia. He gave his original War Daddy tank the same paint job, before it was destroyed. (Without a man lost I might add!) Pool is one of the most highly decorated tank commanders with an incredible 12 confirmed tank kills and 258 armored vehicles destroyed in just about 80 days!

Attempt number i don't know either, to get spooks to just play one of these: CV90120, Lvkv 9040C, Pbv 302 Bill, Swedish T 80 U, Any leclerc, M36 Slugger/Jackson and the WMA 301, and the MBT-70. And for something for low tier, the D2 or the french crusader specifically because baguettes are better than crumpets.
