I’d want to see a documentary on Ronald Reagan done in a KCTV style. You know, those where he’d look at things, and give ‘guidance’ to generals and the like. You may also want to include his many visits to various countries. Be sure to put in footage of people sobbing their hearts out interposed with crashing waves and lightning in parts having to do with his assassination attempt and death announcement/funeral.

For those wondering about the "three thousand Ri": Ri a unit of measurement in Japan and Korea that traces to the Chinese li (里). Although the Chinese unit was unofficially used in Japan since the Zhou Dynasty, the countries officially adopted the measurement used by the Tang Dynasty. It has a value of approximately 392.72 m, or one tenth of the ri. So 3,000 ri roughly corresponds to 1,200 km, the longitudinal span of Korea. In the DPRK, a mythical flying horse called the Chollima can travel a thousand ri or 500 km in a single day. This is the Chollima in the song Chollima on the Wing to promote working harder and faster
Since the second part of the anthem wasn't mentioned, here's the second part in English: "And in the spirit of Mount Paektu, With the love of toil that shall never die, With a will of iron fostered by the truth, We'll lead the whole world by and by! Our land more prosperous still shall be, We have the might to foil the angry sea! As by the people's will we strive, Korea shall forever thrive! Our land more prosperous still shall be, We have the might to foil the angry sea! As by the people's will we strive, Korea shall forever thrive!"

The figure "3,000 ri" might be a rounded-up or symbolic representation, but it could also be meant to evoke a sense of national unity and claims over the entirety of the Korean Peninsula(which they do not own and failed to forcibly control). This would align with North Korea's historical claims and aspirations. It's essential to understand these symbols and phrases in their cultural, political, and historical contexts. North Korea claiming ownership of South Korea is certainly within the realm of possibility, given the historical tensions and narratives related to reunification. South Korea, of course, is happy in a democratic capitalist society and does not wish to be part of South Korea's authoritarian communism.

    • @SaintSaint

Man, North Korea has such a powerful anthem. Combine that with these beautiful scenes of the US and its culture, and this is patriotic perfection. Aegukka was composed in 1945 as a patriotic song (which is what Aegukka means in English) celebrating independence from Japanese occupation. Originally, the Korean exile government in Shanghai adopted as their national anthem "Aegukga" to the tune of Auld Lang Syne. After World War II, South Korea kept the words and changed the melody while North Korea adopted this newly written piece in 1947.
It was composed by Kim Won-gyun who also composed the Song of General Kim Il-sung, which was promoted as the de facto anthem to play at public events in the 1980s, however Aegukka rose back to prominence under Kim Jong-un. The lyrics were written by Pak Se-yong in 1946. Pak Se-yong also wrote the lyrics for the piece Brilliant Fatherland/빛나는 조국 which is the music heard at the end of every KCTV sign-off.
