This scene is genius. So much subtle "show don't tell". Ryan's acting is very good, the horror on his face as he realizes her predicament ( 3:27 )

This scene is such a good intelligence test. Neither s*x nor pregnant, nor abortion are mentioned as words. The viewer has to think and understand what has happened. I've seen too many people not being able to understand that scene at all...
Great scene the more you look at it...
Terrific acting from both actors, nice subtle(not too obvious) scripts, music kicking in and all together the suspense build up...

I don't know what's the exact meaning of this statement actually. Why couldn't she go to her dad because she is catholic? Is it because forbidden pregnancy before marriage or something else?
@@Akash_Tyagi_93Catholics are strictly against abortion no matter what because they believe life at conception is "sacred". However, the governor came onto her and they had an affair - leading to an accidental pregnancy. Now she's trying to get an abortion and she needs to ask the governor for money because her family wouldn't approve of this.
If their secret affair gets out, it could jeopardize her family's image and wreck her career.
