The paladin walked into the room of barbarians and asked if they wanted to break bread. I said they’re not gonna break bread with him, so he reaches for his weapon and combat starts 😂
Any player that dies and comes back with a dar gift feel a pull to the Amber Temple. The only why that a player can unsure the safty of their soul is to destroy the vestage's tether to this world.
I haven’t ran this yet but I’ve read it. The legend of the Symbol of Ravenkind tells of it being used to kill vampires by the high priests of Ravenloft which goes against Strahd being the first vampire. I assume there wasn’t high priests in Ravenloft questing against vampires after Strahd became one. Not sure yet how I’ll spin this. Or maybe I’m missing something?
There are a few “first vampire(s)” in D&D, Kas is another one off the top of my head. I thread the needle by treating them as the First Vampire of a particular vampire lineage. There wasn’t a vampire that created Strahd or Kas, they are First Vampires.
Strahd wasn't the first vampire ever, just the first one in Barovia. He's a unique specimen, not related to any other sources of vampirism in the multiverse. The multiverse had vampires, and vampire hunters, long before Strahd von Tsarovich existed. Whatever world Barovia was part of had vampires before Strahd, according to one old novel I read. It easily could be spun that, in the early days after Strad's transformation, many would-be heroes came after Strahd, and just ended up being dinner. One of them (or some priest that was around before) brought something to Barovia that really hurt Strahd. Being unable to remove the item himself, Strahd hid it away
Yeah despite what the module says Strahd isn't actually the true first vampire, I'm pretty sure that's Kas the bloody handed, former lieutenant of Vecna back before Vecna was a deity I would thread the needle by saying that Strahd was the first in his world, but not the first in the multiverse
In my setting I combine I6 Griffin Hill, and Curse of Strahd 5e. The Appartatus from Griffin Hill is at the Amber Temple - it was traded to the Lich, in exchange for the secret of vampirism.
The Arcanoloth used the trap on X24 to remove 2 players from the fight., He teleported there to avoid being killed, and let a major ilusion of him in front of the statue. 2 players pursued him one of them failed, the other one spend his time trying to hold him, scared of what would happen if the first touched the statue.
I like the idea a Barbarian can converse w the berserkers Maybe he has a one v one duel w the gladiator and if he proves himself then he commands their respect

nah, thats pretty spot on. the only people questing against vampires are the poor adventurers that get swept up in the mists!

Our party barbarian just slaughter a berserker and suggested the rest take a hike. They got the point
Could two players share and read the tome of understanding together? Read it out loud
not RAW, but you can rule it otherwise!
