I think Wicked: Part 2 can do pretty well if they lean into marketing the way it connects directly with the wizard of Oz, and of course they would need to expand on it a lot more... since act 2 of Wicked is pretty bad on stage... I also think part 2 might be a bit darker than part 1 and hopefully marketed towards a slightly older audience 🤞
@@itzlikesupernatrual my one concern is that the way its being marketed is for kids, and the ipad kids dont have the attention span for a 3 hour movie, much less two 😭 also there was definitely some that could've been cut
but I feel like wicked part 2 is destined to fail. in terms of the broadway version act 1 is clearly better. act 2 mainly exists to connect the events of wicked to the wizard oz. ALSO it’s the act that doesn’t have Defying Gravity
Someone pointed out to me that the Wicked marketing team collaborated with a lot of luxury brands, and I started to look at the movie in a different lighting. Idk how anyone can think that an average person can simply afford overpriced merchandise just to go see a movie
this is exactly what i’ve been thinking omg 😭😭 lowkey feel like the first method is really the only way to go about it… i disagree with you saying wicked didn’t need 2 parts though like the stage show is soooo rushed and it would feel even more rushed in a movie format if they crammed 2 time skips in it.

Wicked actually does need to be 2 parts. I have seen the play many times and it wouldn't work in one film
