I’m seventeen (have since turn eighteen) and have watched a bunch of rap battles and have reviewed and learned what to do right in the making of them. Recently, me and my best friend have decided to develop a matchup idea and would love to collaborate with an FRB creator to make said idea come true. And while a good amount of the lines my friend came up with didn’t sound right, I don’t expect such things to be flawless from scratch. We’re bound to make mistakes, which we can grow by learning from them.

Just finished finalizing my opinion on who won this and currently, the only battle where I though Chiaki won in is Chiaki Nanami vs. Wilbur Soot, which is a landslide in her favor IMO.

Ever since seeing user Incredible Andy (@incredibleandy6466) suggest the matchup of Futaba Sakura (Persona 5) vs. Penny (Pokémon Scarlet/Violet) (it’s in the comment section of Kokichi Ouma vs. The Riddler by Freshy Kanal, by the way), I was developing said idea with my best friend and we’ve been taking notes on what to consider to make such a matchup the best it possibly can be. I’ve also considered FRB channels that the two of us could work with (the main one coming to mind being SIR Rap Battles), and I thought that we could work with you should the SIR Rap Battles collab never become reality and assuming you haven’t used either character already. The connections between the two aforementioned characters above are that both are girls with great knowledge on computer, are hackers, have founded an organization that later dissolves/diminishes and get help from the player character and become their ally. Things that have been decided on my end for this hypothetical rap battle are as follows: -Penny is given a British accent (she is (indirectly) confirmed to be of the Galar region, which is based on the U.K.) -Each girl hacks into their opponent’s devices some point in the battle (a voice filter could even be used for each to signify this) -Penny goes first (there is more to say about Futaba, I believe, and I want this battle to be as close as possible) Though I’d wait for more proper material for Penny, there are some things that come off the top of my mind that she can be dissed for, such as: -Her shut-in status -Her habit of skipping school frequently, so much so that Nemona didn’t even know her initially -Her bad memories of her school life as a result of everyone ignoring her (which she uses as a comparison to the weaker box-art legendary Pokémon’s rough relationship to the stronger and more dangerous individual). -Her initially not showing her own friends her face. -Her relationship with her father (who she describes as “loud and clingy and makes up weird nicknames for [her]”, even referring him as “the most annoying guy in the world” and “the worst!”) -The irony of Penny initially being convinced by Team Star grunts to join Team Star and the player saving her as unknowingly to almost everyone in the Operation Starfall story, she is the main member of the team and the mastermind behind its formation (this may not be a true diss, but I think something like this can be worked into the battle) -The big criticism of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet being infamous for their many bugs on their launch date (which may be less of a diss to Penny, but I still think it can hit hard, especially considering how the two opponents have hacking (which can cause glitches) in common) -The fact that three main-series Pokémon games came out in the span of a year (with S/V being the third and of course having been quite rushed with the context above due to its many bug on launch date), which I honestly think should never happen -Penny hacking into the League Point system and feeling bad about it when she confessed that -The surrounding story behind the formation of Team Star: students were bullied and thus became part of the team but their intention backfired when they were looked down upon by the rest of the school -And anything new that has since come out after this discussion took place This can be close, and if the SIR Rap Battles opportunity never happens, then I’d like to work with you. I’ve since rewatched and reanalyzed the battle, and I’m saying this: Pokimane won. I’m the first to say this, and I have reasoning to back up: Poki reversed some of Chiaki’s first round points in round two and even with her second round disses, Chiaki fell flat enough in that round to (barely) lose. The final four lines from her are filler (in the sense that none of them are proper disses), and two of her disses (the makeup diss and the college dropout diss) are dulled a bit to me. I can agree that she had the better overall flow, but even then, Poki’s flow at some points was rather good. In the end, Pokimane took it for me, and don’t get angry that I said my honest opinion.
