    I went to nail school unfortunately the instructors were into the hair industry so i got the bare basics to apply and pass state boards. Thank you for your continued education videos they are a blessing.

    I just removed my gel polish with my e-file and a fine safety bit, is the first time i am doing this as i was always soaking my nails in acetone and my nails were always brittle and soft but this time, even though was my first time doing this with an e-file, they turned out just fine, i couldn't believe how easy it was and how good my nails were after that. Massive thank you for all your vidoes, i have learned so many things from you guys, and i also have loads of your products, i love them xx

    Thanks Tracey! Question, so once we do that and we are ready to put gel back on, do we continue with a base coat since there is still base coat already on there?

    • @youngnailsinc
      @youngnailsinc  7 ปีที่แล้ว +16

      Yes!! Applying it mostly to the exposed natural nail, then lightly pull the Base coat through the rest of the nail.

    Since carbide bits are fairly expensive,and I don't see it possible right now to have a whole collection of them,can a fine safety bit be used for removing all nail products,gel,polygel and acryl? THANK YOU so much for the answer.

    As a home user I’ve started to have a reaction to the acetone so hoping I can efile my gel off. I use a builder gel after base for strength. Thanks for video, might need to practice on hubby first 😬

    So because we file down to the base coat, if another gel mani was to follow removal, we would still add another foundation layer + color x2 + top coat? We wouldn't just add color to this old base coat correct?

      Great question! You would still apply a Base, but concentrating on the exposed natural nail...then you can lightly pull it over the rest of the nail to smooth it out. This will keep the nail from getting too thick.

    I am scared to death of electric files. I had a horrible salon person take off a gel/acrylic overlay on one of my fingers (thank goodness it was just on the one finger) and she filed almost through the nail, in places the nail was almost gone.

      Chop shop Vietnamese nail parlors are notorious for not knowing how to use the tools and enhancements the right way! Read yelp reviews of your local nail salons practically every Vietnamese joint will have a plethora of bad reviews it's like Greg says "It's the fools that hurt client's, not the tools."

    • @storm9685
      @storm9685 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Tiffany Tran You might be the exception but just because YOU are running a clean operation doesn't mean all are. I am not trying to be racist, it is inherently racist because of how the industry is skewed. I would be very very leary of getting a pedicure in any Asian salon. You just hear so much, see so much on the news and read so many horrible reviews. I mean using toxic MMA, not washing the pedicure chairs, cutting feet and cuticles and not stopping the service, gel polish chipping after a few hours a day and then blaming it on the client that they were swimming too much or washing dishes, Not autoclaving or even having barbicide and just putting tools in a drawer it's all just a huge recipe for yuck!

    Awesome, thanks Tracey! What about nail tips? What's the safest way to remove nail tips with an e file? I want to ensure the next nail tip will properly adhere to natural nail and not be inhibited by previous nail tip remains. Or do you suggest just filing to the nail tip and soaking the rest off, (I don't want to use acetone) takes a lot of time!

Maybe it isnt necessary at all??

    Hi! Can the fine safety bit be used to file & shape dip and remove it or would I need 2 different bits - one for removing gel/dip and one for shaping dip? One last question, I'm left handed but I'm purchasing it for doing my own mani, so would I use a left handed bit on reverse but I'll need to put it in forward when using my right hand to remove polish from my left? Lastly, how is the fine safety bit different from your tornado bit? Can that one be used for removing gel/dip and shaping dip too? Thank you!

    • @youngnailsinc
      @youngnailsinc  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The fine safety bit is good for gel polish removal but for dip or acrylic you should use the safety bit coarse. Yes lefties work in reverse with the left handed bit

    Do you leave the base coat? I have some clients who will stop me and ask if I am going to wrap and soak off the nails... I think the idea of using ONLY the drill to remove gel scares them. A lot of these clients also probably think it is necessary to remove everything including the base, to get a fresh new manicure each time - if not, I assume they think I'm doing a bad job for not starting with "bare" nails. What do you tell these clients?

      Thank you! Is it safe to use a medium bit on natural nails as well for gel polish removal or should I only use fine? (Carbide safety)

      I challenged him to a race around the world, but since there was a no cell phone or computer rule I couldn't tell him I decided not to do it. Hopefully he will be back next week so we can tell him the good news that he won...Yeah Greg!!!

    I used today a safety bit i turned my machine up to a quarter, ( My efile has 35.000 rpm ) But the gelpolish didnt come off.... do I need a higer RPM? I was a bit scared to go higher...

    • @youngnailsinc
      @youngnailsinc  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      yes I would work on a higher speed. Speed isn't as scary as pressure, definitely don't need to apply pressure with the electric file.

    • @serhataganer335
      @serhataganer335 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@youngnailsinc Alright so can I go near as 35.000?

    • @youngnailsinc
      @youngnailsinc  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I wouldn't work on full speed. Hard to make judgement on a machine I am not familiar with but wouldn't recommend full speed. On ours we remove enhancements at about 1/2
