Black Sails has actually pulled it off in giving us one of the sweetest and most satisfying ending without any stupid bullshit. I honestly didn't see this ending coming. I thought everything would go to hell because it looked that way and then THIS happened and I ended up with the most stupid happy grin on my face you can imagine.
Well its possible that Silver killed him and told this story to hide it... Scene of them united can be symbolising them together again in heaven. Cause it is all too good to be true Kind of bittersweet ending

Silver's confession to his lady, that he found Flint's love.. not dead, exiled. and he was sending Flint to go to Hamilton. to hell with all other terms, plans. Silver gave Flint back his purpose.❤👍

I don’t think Silver would ask an entirely theoretical question, it seems too out of character. Not to mention we were shown Silver’s man go to the estate where Thomas was being held, we wouldn’t have been told and shown those things if it was all a lie.

In the end this story was about love, gay or not, if Flint had done all that for a woman, the story would be just one of the million stories about lost love. His feelings for another man actually give some sense to the ,,lover conquers all'' thing. Btw, he was clearly bisexual, remember the years with Miranda?
What's wrong with a gay main protagonist (he's confirmed gay according to Toby Stephens and the creators themselves)? Captain Flint expresses a vast assortment of emotions that any human being can relate to. His lost love just happens to be a man. People play video games/watch films and TV shows with anthropomorphic characters all the time, which tells me that they don't need to 100% identify with the character in order to appreciate them.

Miranda and him weren't in a sexual relationship after he believed thomas died. The one time they were in bed together he just laid there clearly not enjoying it while she rode him, & kind of patted her on the back after- so awkward & like a pity thing. Miranda also slept with the priest so it clearly wasn't a romantic relationship her and Flint were in anymore. It was also shown he wasn't attracted to women other times too, like when Eleanor clearly wanted to sleep with him and he rejected her with a kiss on the forehead. They never showed him kissing Miranda or anything romantic with her in the present. I think he loved her a lot, just not like that.
This was exactly what I needed after finishing the series. It would have been better if it were more in focus than not, but gosh, the clips were so aligned to break the heart 😭

OMG just loved Black Sails. The ending was perfect couldn't stop crying 😢. Fell in love with Captian Flint❤. Truly enjoyed the whole series. The whole series was amazingly done. Going to miss the pirates.
I think black sails did a excellent job in introducing a gay romance into the story not for the sake of Social justice or political correctness but actually as a well rounded and fitting plot point that helps the story along. Did not see the reveal comming just before it happened and tought it to be both daring and creative!

I was grateful that Flint got a better ending in the end. But yeah, I'm still sore over losing Vane, lol. I'll always be sore over his loss no matter what. Loved the series, loved the cast. They made me so angry at times, and sad the next. Laughing at some, while fanning my red face at others (blame the shirtless/pantsless scenes with Charles for that)

The writers said it happened. It was only when a few of those "it's only edgy if everyone dies" dorks (or the SilverFlint shippers who would rather Silver kill Flint than have him end up with Thomas and the homophobes) questioned whether it could have been a dream, they were like 'I guess...' It's pretty obvious they didn't intend it to be that.
I'm very sad to say it makes more sense silver would kill him. There so no many unanswered questions otherwise. What's the secret with silvers past? Why all the tales silver told? And was this just another one of his grand lies at the end? That part in episode 9 where flint says I am transparent to you. But I do not know who you are. Then silver hops away. This makes the last scene even more eeerie. Can we trust what silver told us in the end? Flint certainly didn't trust him that's y he stop for the break and sat there expecting to be shot.
ok wtf. im part of the silverflint fandom and literally not a single person i know there wanted flint to die let alone be killed by silver. those of us that actually care about flint's happiness (which is most of us) wanted him to be reunited with thomas. silver may have been the love of flint's life but thomas was his truest love. i dont know where you got the impression that silverflint shippers dont also ship flinthamilton. in the three years i've been in this fandom ive never known that to be the case. the majority of us ship both.
Even if I could abide Hollywood's crusade to normalize homosexuality, I cant identify with a gay male protagonist. I watched a few more episodes and found myself rooting for Captain Flint's rivals, but there was no getting around that he is the main character. Too bad.
I totally agree; it's lovely to see the diversity of characters on screen that I dont share a background with. Really opens my eyes to different struggles and experiences.
