You'll love it! I'm one of several Brits who ran in the Kazbegi mountain marathon on 8th November and gotta say the Georgians are fantastic fun-loving people. Watch out for the traffic in Tbilisi it is pretty wild! Try out the "German" restaurant....can't remember its name....but portions are enormous and beers great. Alani's restaurant is great for live traditional music and dancing and they often serve their own beers and we could eat and drink what we liked after that marathon it was tough!
I've wanted to visit Georgia for so long, and this video just added to that longing! It looks so beautiful and so unique. Thank you for making this video and sharing your city with the world.
J O'Connell Hi I'm Georgian and glad your interest to my country. I really believe Georgia is the treasure for world, which was hidden in Soviet Union. You will find out it by yourself when you get there :)
Omg am coming to Tbilisi within 7 days from now N am totally freaking out :( Bug soooooo happy the city is Adorable & I heard that the ppl of Georgia r nice -3
I walked on the alleys and streets of Tbilisi this October (2014). Rustaveli avenue is the best in evening. If you are traveling from USA, the city will look old to you. It's definitely not NYC or Chicago or Atlanta or some big U.S. cities, but it's very rich in culture and you will love all the new things you come across. I, myself, is a thrill-seeker; and i enjoy getting to know different culture and people. Believe me, if you love history and an adventurer, Tbilis is simply amazing and can wonder any thrill-seeker! I have an amazing friend who happens to be the nicest person I met in Tbilisi. I would definitely love to visit there if I get the invitation. Don't forget to taste Goergian dishes ( i liked kinkhali and Georgian peach juice). I will definitely go there even just to drink Georgian peach juice! That's the best drink I had in my life... who knows maybe this drink along with some other things will get me to Tbilisi more often in the future. :))
goldeneras you should invite your Georgian friend to the USA as well... then you will definitely get the invitation. I am Georgian, live in the USA, love both countries almost the same way... But gotta tell you, in the USA I've learned to be more practical and learned life... As Georgian-American, I advice you to treat your friends same as they treat you and this will last forever. :))) Do not just expect Georgians treat you well. Yes, they are nice people.... But after a while nobody is nice if you don't show the same kindness. :))) p.s. You should visit other parts and cities of Georgia as well.... Cheers!
I am moving to Tbilisi in a few weeks. Thanks for this video, I am excited to see all those places with my own eyes. Can you please recommend some Georgian folk music for me to listen to?
@centuryof66 Ah! Both are buildings. But I did not understand the suggestion, they are considered good places in Tbilisi? The cool thing is seeing that there is no skyscrapers. The local architecture is so beautiful. In Tbilisi there is something different, as here in my town that plants and small trees that keep growing on the roof of the houses?
Even know I was born in Georgia and is my county.I miss you will be there for you no meter what will happen in my 100 years of life I'll be there just wait
Yes actually , n am still in Georgia It's soooo beautiful .... But theres some negatives about how difficult it is to find a job here & for me exchanging my currency is impossible hehe But overall Georgians are so nice & warm & they always help if u ask politely & with a smile :)
they are very friendly by all means, you can make friends in a short time. also city is very secure, most of young generation can speak some level of english.
Tbilisi is an Amazing place we go twice a year or more. Please can you tell me the name of the female singer from 3.50 mins onwards. I have forgotten her name. Thanks and thanks for the great video.
Thanks for the video. I am planing to visit your city this July but I hear that English is not common there. So do you know any female translator that can speak English very well ? to be my guide. You can send me a message if you know. Thanks in advance.
Hi Mounika. Unfortunately I don't now much about Georgian Visas but you can google this question or contact the Georgian Embassy either in your own country ( if available ) or in your Region and they will be happy to assist. In my opinion if you are a skilled professional it shouldn't be difficult and you might be better to start own business here ( depending on nature of the business) rather then being employee, as well paid jobs aren't much there. Good luck StayinTbilisi
Hi Beppe Rizzuto, At the very beginning, absolute respect for Italy, to a beautiful and diverse culture, the cultures of the Italians....About Georgians, (as from historian by education), thing is that Georgians in Caucasus, Corsicans in Corsica, Spanish Iberians in Spain, Picts in Britain, Etruscans in Italy and other Iberian peoples of Europe have same ethno, ethnic origin and represent Iberian race, Iberian peoples of Europe (therefore, maybe from the roots of the Etruscans, Corsicans, you have 75% Georgian), and this is why all these peoples (together with originality of each of these listed peoples, including Georgians) have similarities, identical in the different forms of culture, in folk music, dance, in ancient architectural style and so on. Also Georgians cultures, beginning from BC, ancient times and continue with next historical times (together with originality of Georgian cultures, influences with different European, ancient Greeks civilizations, cultures, Roman cultures, Byzantium culture, Catholic Europe and other European cultures) are European. Sincerely, Alex
