    Perfect! The only correct explanation I found on TH-cam. All other youtube videos were filled with non sense explanations where teachers themselves were unclear about the topic.

    3:52 e- gets excited, almost instantly deexcites and releases that energy.
    8:02 intensity= more no.of photons
    8:47 more KE- electrons coming out with more energy

    Great video....But I have a confusion....What if more than one photons collide with the same electron?? Does the kinetic energy of the electron increase then?? Obviously, It can't be. That's the whole point of photoelectric effect. But why not??

    • @jamesberg2226
      @jamesberg2226 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      He said that when one photon hits one electron and if the energy of photon is less than work function, the electron excites to other energy level and immediately deexcites and comes back to the same energy level so quickly that other photon can't have a chance to hit the same electron. But we know that speed of the light is fastest. So even I got a doubt with that one.

    Sir I have a hypothesis in favour of WAVE nature of Light.
    The rationale that we use against WAVE nature of light is that Photoelectric Effect is a function of FREQUENCY. And observation of Threshold Frequency is hard/impossible to explain considering Light a Wave.
    However, FREQUENCY is related to WAVELENGTH (λ = v/f).
    So perhaps, Photoelectric Effect is not actually a function of FREQUENCY at all, but rather a function of WAVELENGTH.
    On similar lines, there may be a concept of Threshold Wavelengtb.
    I.E. wavelenth needs to be sufficiently small to enable INTERACTION with electrons of a candidate element.
    Would this perspective continue to support Wave Nature of Light? (without getting into fuzzy concepts like Photon and Duality)?

    Every day I can watch the amperage jump on my solar panels when the sun gets lower in the sky (when the UV is the highest) even though the angle of light has been reduced, this totally explains that!

    With your ping pong ball example, is it because increasing intensity is like throwing many ping pong balls at a slow speed?
    Where higher frequency light is like throwing a ping pong ball at a higher speed?
