George Lucas' creative output went progressively downhill after his divorce, to the point where one wonders to what extent did Marcia Lucas influenced/helped him before. Such a shame that an outstanding writer and director such as Frank Darabont didn't get involved in that notorious Indy 4 movie...His script can be retrieved on TheRaider.net, and it's REALLY good!
Lucas has made nothing but terrible creative decisions since Star Wars originally came out. I feel like he really just won the lottery there and not really much else. Granted, I did like Revenge of the Sith but it has an overabundance of issues that I can't understand why someone with his power would let that be in his film. I would like to see Darabont write the new Indy adventure screenplay with Spielberg directing and Lucas not even being involved. I know Ford is old, maybe in this script, we transition his role to a younger actor (please like a Chris Pratt figure), NOT SHIA LABEOUF.
Shame it worked out the way it did... I trust Spielberg's judgement FAR more than that of Lucas!
I've read Darabont's script and it would have been SUCH a better film than the version we ended up with.
what a gentleman.

too bad the Darabont script didn't find its way to screen. It was a better version.
George Lucas should just stick to “Ideas Man”; his directing and writing abilities are terrible

I'm sure Disney will sort it out after all they've done a bang up job with Star Wars.....no sarcasm whatsoever.
