I can remember this storm quite well despite not even being awake. Thats right, I slept through a goddamn tornado that touched down less than a mile from my house! I was closest to the touchdown that ripped the copper roof off Saint Paul Catholic Church at MO 141 and MO 30.
Stl is upgrading to an all whelen system. 3016s started replacing most tbolts in I guess the early 90s. And some eows replaced tbolts also. All sirens were cd yellow, and then those got replaced with whelens. Tbolts left that I know of are at howdershell park(by my school), lindbergh/hwy 67, bangert park, and one off hwy 170 by some power station. Humes ln was the best lol.
@garyhstorms10 Not a 2001, it's most likely a Whelen 3016. The only sirens that are even remotely new in the STL area are all Whelen WPS-4000 series, aside from the WPS-2900 series omni's that are slowly replacing every single siren that isn't already an omni-directional "stacked" Whelen of some type.

All sirens in south stl county are WPS2750s based on their modulator (speakers) height.
Actually, when I posted that, I didnt know squat about my counties sirens. Theyre actually Whelen WPS 2910s
The Sirens heard are whelens and a single 2001 in Alert also what type of Weather Radio do you have

Our sirens did not start the 3 wind ups until 2013.

I still lived in North Carolina at the time. It was all over the news. Looks like it raked over half the state.
