Thanks Charlotte and Jordan, great interview with Mr Croasdell, for any new soul fans out there, the Kent releases are brilliant, great tunes for a tenner a pop, you can’t go wrong with any of the releases, a great introduction to the world of soul. I’ve got loads of expensive stuff in my own collection but still buy the Kent Soul and Kent Select releases, it’s not how expensive it is, it’s what’s in the groove that counts, glad to see the record box stickers are up on the blog! Can I request a Soul Sam interview...........

Fantastic interview!! I remember "the magic touch" Melba Moore, And"it's torture" Maxine brown being played for the 1st time at "Top of the world" and how they were instent dance floor fillers.great memories! A lot of tracks on the early Kent albums were played at Stafford and in some cases it was the 1st time I learned who the real artists were! as there were so many cover up artists at the time, like Romance Watson"where does that leave me" when 1st played at Stafford it was covered up as Henry Jerome, and Freddie Houston"if i had known"i remember Keb darge covering that up as Herb ward! Kent records gave me a great education about rare soul, and still love it with the same passion as i did after 1st hearing these tunes back in the 80s.and those free Annerversery singles for the 100club, now go for silly money! But worth every penny!! There's even a Kent comperlation of all the Annerversery singles that's been out a few years now,i very much look forward to the next release.👍👍🛵

wow I really enjoy these interviews but this is my favourite by far, I remember buying the 'For Dancers Only' LP in 82, I had been away from the scene for about 3 years, as I got in to the scooter scene. I took it home and TBH I was not impressed at all, this was not the music I had remembered and loved from Wigan etc, I eventually played it a few more times and by the time 'For Dancers Also' came out in 83 I was hooked and bought every Kent LP for the next 10 years, I am a massive fan of Ace/Kent records and always seem to be out on my own when I say I would rather buy a re-issue knowing royalties are going to be paid than an original for big money when those who created it don't benefit one round cent. I am sure I will be listening to this interview many times and enjoy just as much as the 1st time. Thanks guys.

What a brilliant interview well done both. It nice to hear how Ady started off with Black Soul Tamla Motown and being a Mod. Wife & I started the same in Worcester and he mentioned the Mods visiting his all nighters in Leicestershire. Loved the Steve Wonder story in fact all the stories with his trip on the greyhound bus #KTF

I stumbled upon this video today and WOW! Fantastic! Terrific to see a couple of young fans engaging with the legends that helped shape the scene over the decades and capture these important personal testaments on record.
