I had a black 94 SC and I miss it so much that I can’t stop watching these videos. My buddy still has his black 93 SC. I have a corvette now but still miss the SC.
My late grandmother had an '89 LX. She traded it in '99 on a brand new '00 Honda Civic, but I remember riding in the 'Bird once or twice. Thanks for this!!! :)
Back in the day I knew a guy that had a black and silver 5 speed Supercoupe. That thing was TERRIFYING. He was a mechanic that did every mod possible to it.
This particular generation Thunderbird was the best one yet. It utilized Ford's then-new MN12 platform and had a great track record on the NASCAR circuit.
Ford really knocked this generation out of the park. Back in 1989 I really wanted a Cougar XR7. I test drove a number of them. Unfortunately I didn't have the discipline required to not only save a portion of my weekly paycheck towards it but really wanted my own car at 16. I wound up getting a 1990 Accord EX sedan which was a great car, just not a passionate one. Had I waited I would have wound up with a red 1991 Thunderbird SC as the XR7 went V8 and auto only after 1990. Live and learn.
Thanks a lot. My grandparents had an ‘89 LX and I think of them when I think of this style of T-Bird. My FAV of this design is the SC, even though I never even heard of the SC until I first discovered TH-cam.
My best friends mom had a Thunderbird when I was a kindergartner back in 1989, and I remember thinking it was so cool… much cooler than my mom’s 1985 Dodge Caravan.
I got to test drive a used super coupe over 20 years ago, unfortunately there was something wrong with the engine of that particular car and I didn’t get full enjoyment from my test drive.
These cars were so ahead of their time! My whole family owned Thunderbird’s and Cougar’s. Good riding highway cars. I still miss my Supercoupe!!
