      My Dad got a fantastic deal on a red Wagoneer that was almost brand-new when I was a baby, probably '64 or '65.
      It was a running joke because it was LITERALLY worth more than our house.
      Poignant to see this one get crushed (man, it crushed SO flat) but yeah, no fixing that.

    Those dustbuster minivans are getting rarer too.

    That old Wagoneer was the rustiest hulk we've had on the pile in a while. Am I wrong, or did I actually see the frame collapse when he was arranging it?

      I saw the body rolling up off of frame while he was sorting the door, no real frame collapse. Not that it matters as it definitely puffed a rusty cloud at the end, poor thing was dust. Was a cool color tho.

    • @ronaldkovacs7080

      The body was so badly rusted it detached from the frame. The Riviera probably had the worst frame, that model was notorious for rusting out underneath the trunk.

  • @corvetcoyote443

    That Wagoneer was so rusted out it actually flattened easier than the other cars which is insane due to the fact they are built like tanks.

    • @brentboswell1294
      @brentboswell1294 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Unfortunately, they always had corrosion problems, even through multiple ownership changes: AMC, AMC/Renault, and finally Chrysler...they all seem to rot out behind the wheels, and in the front seat floor pans.

    • @swordfish1986

      This is why cars here in the south where I live last longer, no road salt. The town where I live in Georgia still has unmodified original 60's and 70's vehicles driving around. It's sad to see a once beautiful car which used to be a family's pride and joy fall victim to salt. Why can't we replace salt yet? Why can't we just use alcohol or some kind of antifreeze liquid that isn't harmful to the ecosystem? We have the technology, why?
