The College Avenue Redevelopment Initiative began in 2012 with a partnership between Rutgers University and New Brunswick Development Corporation (“DEVCO”).
Their collective intent was to create modern, sustainably built, academic and residential spaces on the College Avenue Campus at Rutgers University.
The Initiative includes three new buildings as well as outdoor spaces for academic and social uses.
The team’s hard work paid off when the Initiative earned the 2016-2017 Innovative School Project of the Year award from the New Jersey Chapter of the U.S. Green Building Council. This video explains how an atmosphere of independent living is being fostered at Rutgers' newest green residential building.
