    As a black Christian woman originally from Uganda, I never have nor will I ever vote Democrat. They do not align with my values, and I could never vote for them based on the history of the party. • @Dnell-tb1yd
      @Dnell-tb1yd หลายเดือนก่อน +14

      It’s not a lie! Being from Uganda I’m not certain that you’re well versed enough in American history to make the statement that the parties never switched. Here’s a primer, in the beginning of the modern Republican Party, they were progressive so progressive that they were known as “radical” republicans. Which explains their stance on abolishing slavery. The democrats of that era were conservative, which explains why they wanted to hold onto(the literal meaning of conserve)ideas and practices from the past. Over time, the democrats moved away from their former positions and embraced a progressive agenda (FDR, Truman) this alienated members of their party enough to cause a split. This split resulted in the formation of the Dixiecrat party. As the Democrats became more progressive, the Republicans adopted a conservative stance. All of the Dixiecrats became Republicans forming the modern southern branch of the Republican Party. Be intellectually honest and ask yourself which party embraces the past of the south, protects and tries to preserve its symbols(Confederate flag, holidays, statues etc)it sure ain’t the Democrats.

      Look at what happened when President LBJ supported the Civil Rights Act. Southern Democrats lost office or become Republican because they oppose Civil Rights. You’re not from here so you won’t understand the history unless you take the time to study it.

    • @DarthVader-ep6wl
      @DarthVader-ep6wl หลายเดือนก่อน

      You're right. The parties did NOT switch. However, during the Civil Rights movement the Republicans were SLOW to abolish the Jim Crow laws. The Democrats who were traditionally racist in the south and who formed the Ku Klux Klan, stepped up FIRST and got rid of it. This alienated some of the members of that party, who then colloquolly called the Dixiecrats, and THEY eventually became the base of the modern Republicans. So, where the southern rebels of the Civil War were the Confederate Democrats, nowadays it's southern Republicans who now wave the Conderate flad as part of their "southern tradition". This new Republican party was epitomized by STROM THURMOND, a segregationist who was formerly a Democrat who opposed the Civil Rights Act of 1964 as well as the Voting Rights Act of 1965. He backed Barry Goldwater a Republican who also opposed the Civil Rights and Voting Rights Acts and attracted more traditional Democrats like them. Almost 60 years later, we are where we are.

Both Democrats and Republicans have various reasons I like and don't like both parties which makes it difficult to to fully devote my allegiance to them that are more personal preferences like healthcare, education, entrepreneurship, strengthening union workers, or attempts to remove government programs like social security, government reliance on welfare, removal of AA and DEI, voting rights, over investment in the military industrial complex, handling of immigration and the border, need for prison and police reform, striter gun laws, and care for the environment. However as a believer, each party are ungodly. One party supports promotes LBGTQ, abortion, feminism, and hyper sexuality. If Christians want to continue having the freedom of practicing religion, then the choice is simple. Vote for the party whose record shows the expansion of freedoms for citizens. History has taught us that once [a] freedom is taken away...well all freedoms are then at risk. Easy choice for me...💙💙💙 Up and down on my ticket. Just know, it's a whole lot easier to speak of the goodness of my Lord Jesus Christ to those who do not know him under a government that believes in freedom vs the threat of being cast into a fiery furnace for speaking of Him under a government that has a clear history of taking freedoms away. I care less about a dance move at a political rally.

    The mistake we are making is in thinking that we vote for a government in order for them to uphold good christian values. I am not in the US so I do not have a vote but if and when I am persuaded to go to the ballot box where I live it is purely to vote for the government that offers the best options for my life as it relates to earthly matters. i.e. education, health, economics, community ect. I just finished viewing the video on this channel about the church becoming an entertainment centre! It seems to me as if we have decided to allow our politicians to take over the role of religious education and moral living and now look to the church for entertainment and to make us feel good. Isn't this upside down???? Finally the bible goes a far way in emphasising the importance of character and motive in an individual but yet it seems that this plays no significant role in our choice of leadership both within the church and in the political arena. Maybe we should take a timeout from politics and spend more time at the feet of Jesus until we become, as disciples should be, a lot more like him.

    I do appreciate the conversation as it draws out a lot of issues concerning bias views. While the title gives away the premise of the video and immediately starts pointing out the obvious, it seems minds are already made up as to which direction to lean. There seems to be a lot of grace and mercy for the person that embodies the very characteristics that we are told not to be (we all know the rap sheet). On the other hand there is no grace for the person that does not portray these same characteristics. I agree that neither party represents Christ. In Christ, we have been given the gift of free will...in other words to choose. Abortion has been given a bad name by people who can never have it and don't understand the medical necessity in instances that could claim the life of the person going through the emergency. If it's sin we all are concerned about, why aren't us men in the hot seat for premaritals or immorality? It takes two people to get to the point of pregnancy, right? Jesus would say in this situation, he who has not sinned should throw the first stone. Jesus had compassion for those that were overlooked and rejected by society. The same religious society that demanded his life. In this debacle I see similarities to the crowd shouting "Free Barabas, give us Barabas!" and also to the Israelites wanting a King. The problem is that for those of us forgetting that we too are sinners saved by grace forget that the same grace abounds more than the sin. This Democrat or Republican ideology is self seeking.We can and should support and fight policies but in neither party should we find our identity. Both lie, abuse and use. Vote for the policies and not the party or politicians.

    Between the abortion issue, the twerking, the lack of her ability to communicate her views in a thorough and sensible manner, etc. I can’t see how any Christian is considering this person as someone they would want to represent them. Just saying. Trump has his issues as well. I’m not for either party.

    As a person who was raised Catholic, we are taught that its a grave sin to vote for any candidate who promotes abortion or is in favor of it. Which for me, has caused me to choose not to vote or to write someone in. I go with GOD and what He wants and leave the results to Him. Bible says to have nothing to do with the worthless things that belong to the darkness, but instead, expose them. It also says not to take part in the sins of others.1Timothy5:22, Ephesians 5:10-11.
